Ok Im loading my primer picks up tubes with large primers. When I hold it over the drop point and pull the little pin to drop them! Bam they hang and wont go down..... I wiggled and tapped but only managed to get about 50 primers inside. The rest spilled in the floor!
I had to reinsert and finally got the rest in.
What am I doing wrong?
Dillon makes both Large and Small Primer tubes - are you using the correct size?

Congratulations! As the wife of a "Skoal-man", I commend you for your decision and determination. Your daughter deserves a round of applause!

Duane,
I've shot Bobby's Limited gun in .40 at the range and it 'kicks' more than my Open gun in .38SC. But the blast that comes off the comp might make someone think there's more recoil. When I first started shooting, I didn't double-plug and Bobby never shot Open, so that double-plugging wasn't something he could teach me. Now that I double-plug for every match and at the range for practice, I don't have a blinking reaction from the comp blast. I can't really explain all the facts behind it, I can only tell you that I agree with the recoil calculator.

Duane, because I have been thinking other divisions, I too have been interested in the differences in recoil between an Open gun and a major-power factor gun in another division. I'm a Google-fanatic and found this in my searches... http://www.handloads.com/calc/recoil.asp
If you use this information for Load One (121 gr bullet, 9.5 gr powder, 1363 fps, 2.5 lbs weight of the gun), you get Free Recoil Energy = 5.22 ft/lbs. If for Load Two, you use 180 gr bullet, 5 gr powder, and a 2 lb gun, the Free Recoil Energy is 5.43 ft/lbs.
If the guns weighed the same, the Open Gun would recoil harder, but the weights aren't equal.

I had actually planned to go to Costco tomorrow. Thinking about this story will make the trip, and the anticipated crowds, much more fun!

YOU did not DQ her, she DQ'd herself. If she doesn't understand that, she needs to take a step back anyway. Congrats on having a wife that participates. My wife and I shoot on different squads and we like it a lot better that way.
Yes we do... :D
Dan, as a female shooter, I would offer a couple of suggestions of my own...
1. Give her time to absorb the incident and cool off. While I don't know your wife, if it were me, the biggest issues I would have would be embarrassment at being DQ'ed in front of a bunch of people and frustration with myself for doing something that I know better than to do. Sure, I realize many people DQ, but I sometimes think that women are harder on themselves 'cause we feel we've got something to prove while shooting with so many men.
2. Chocolate, flowers, a brand new gun w/ lots of bling- all that stuff can't hurt!
Good luck. I wish you and your wife many years of happy shooting!

We've been using Palms at our monthly Cajun Action Shooters match in Thibodaux this year and used them to score the recent Gator Classic.
Gator was my first big match and 3rd match total that used Palms for scoring (SEPSA in Fernandina Beach, FL uses Palm at their monthly matches). I think the RO's and staff at Gator Classic did a fantastic job with the technology and it was really cool to see everything on screen, including Hit Factor, immediately after you were done shooting. I hadn't thought about the advantage of using them in wet conditions as opposed to dealing with soggy paper scoresheets, but that alone gives Palm the upper hand in my book!

Bobby & I got home about midnight last night... Congrats to my hubby for winning B Limited!!!
This was, far & away, the BEST match I've ever attended! The staff, competitors, stages, and food were all Top Notch! It's already on our shooting calendar for next year!
Squad 4- the Ladies squad- ROCKED! We had some great guys on the squad too and I'm so appreciative of their "tolerance" of all the PINK everywhere!
Thanks, Gator Classic, for a fantastic weekend!

There's a special place reserved in heaven one day for you, Scott. And I've no doubt the many dogs you have loved will be right there waiting...
What a wonderful, sad and heartwarming story. Your generosity is great.
Bobby and I took in a stray dog about 18 months ago and she has become the love of our lives. We wouldn't trade her for anything and knowing that we took her off the streets and love her as much as we do, makes my heart warm.
Thank you for sharing.

in What I Hate
Wendy,
So sorry about your fish tank- that's a bummer and I can only imagine the mess!
On another note- have a GREAT time at BWB camp. I've been to 2 of them and had an incredible time at both. Please say hello to all the instructors for me. Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Yesterday, my 120 gal aquarium blew a bottom seal. It took 13 hours and $500 to save my fish and clean up the damage while also taking care of 5 very curious toddlers. WTF, it was only 5 years old but the manufacturer went out of business (wonder why???)It was also an unusual size so I would have had to special order one to get the same size again. Over $1000 in fish won't live that long in buckets! So I bought the largest I could find locally that fit into the space. They are a little cramped in 75 gal. This came just days after I bought my open gun and all of it's accessories. Sheeeeesh, I am BROKE.
Thankfully, my Babes with Bullets camp is next week. I really need to shoot stuff!

To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.
Date: 06-27-09, 1:43 A M EST.
I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on my girlfriend, threatening our lives..
> You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings.
> I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important
> message.
> First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment when I drew my pistol
> after you took my Jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing
> the jacket for a reason.
> My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 A CP pistol
> for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very
> evening.
> Obviously you agree that it is a very Intimidating weapon when pointed at
> your head wasn't it?
> I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from
> bare footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with
> me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come
> help mug us again].
> After I called your mother, or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell,
> I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I Went and filled up
> my gas tank as well as four other people's in the gas station on your credit
> card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was extremely
> grateful!
> I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with
> all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]
>
> I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked
> at the curb ... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the
> entire driver's side of the car.
> Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell
> just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little
> over a day now, so what's going on with that?
> Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's
> office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible
> target. The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I
> guess while he traced your number etc.).
>
> In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel
> this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your
> threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these
> rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the
> opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider the career path you've
> chosen to pursue in life.
>
> Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.
>
>
> Have a good day!
>
> Thoughtfully yours, Alex
>

> P.S. Remember this motto. . An armed society makes for a more civil

To say that story gave me chills would be an understatement... thank you for sharing and thank you for the incredible sacrifices your father and so many others made so we could be free!

I did a couple of searches and couldn't find anything about stages for the 2009 Gator Classic. (If the info is out there, I apologize for the redundant post...)
Anybody know when the stages will be posted for the 2009 Gator Classic?
Thanks in advance,
Susan

Bobby & I will be there! After the Babes with Bullets camp and Lady Smith match in Princeton this past April, I came home telling Bobby that we HAD to go! Everyone talked about what a great match it is and how wonderful the food is. So, our spots are reserved, the hotel reservation is made, and my time-off-work request has been granted. Thibodeaux or Bust for us!
-
Congratulations and Best of Luck! My brother lives in NYC and gave acting a "go" for a while. He's very talented, but it didn't pan out. I know from listening to him that's a seriously competitive industry. I know you are proud!
-
Happy Birthday, Rich! Hope it's been a good one!
-
Do we need to be told everything? I'm not sure this is funny...but there isn't a "dumb" category here.
Yeah, but wouldn't it do a nice job of protecting the kid? Just think...protection from theft, physical harm, etc. Then again, their IS that little issue of being air tight....
And don't forget... what a great hiding place for that popular little game, "Hide & Seek"!
-
Man, I STILL cannot believe I'm gonna miss this match! AARRRGGGHHH!!! I'll be in the air headed to Austin, TX about the time things start getting good.
Alan, I know it's going to be fabulous. You've got a great setup crew AND the support of a lot of great people too. Have fun, relax and get some sleep between now and then!
Have a great one, everybody. Shoot some A's for me!
-
For that sticker to have been made and added as part of the routine means that someone was dumb enough to try it and probably sued Pelican for an adverse outcome......
I have that same thought everytime I read what I would consider to be a stupid warning label. And there seem to be more of those every day!
-
Congratulations, Tod! She is beautiful! One piece of advice... don't tell Rebecca that you compared waiting for Kendall to arrive with waiting for FB3G every year. Some how I don't think she would like that analogy!
-
No.
We have had members delete all of their posts in the past and it really screws up threads. It also causes people to be responsible about what they post. It is here forever...
Cue Evil Laugh and Creepy Music... BWAH!!!!

Freakin' bull crap! You know I drove right by the house on Sunday afternoon!!!
Susan - so we're invited for Christmas 2011 right.
Rich
Rich, of course you are invited! You can bring the wine!
Gio, those are great tips you provided. I'm gonna check out Alton's recipe for Prime Rib. We used Paula Deen's recipe last year. She's not my favorite tv personality, but her Prime Rib recipe was REALLY good!
-
Very nice!
Bobby & I cooked Prime Rib with Garlic-Blue Cheese sauce and twice-baked potatoes for the family Christmas dinner this year. It's gonna be the new tradition in our household! Delicious!

WOW! That is amazing...
