  1. I recently scored an Elite Match in .40 (non rail, LPA adj sights). Here are my questions...I'd appreciate any answers you would provide:

    1) Does my barrel have polygonal rifling and/or how can I tell if it does? Glocks claim polygonal rifling, but they look like regular rifling to me compared to the HK barrels.

    2) Are all the barrels that EAA sells now 'match grade' stainless barrels? In other words, are they the same quality as the barrel I have in my Match? Witness barrels

    3) I have an older, small-frame 9mm Witness (circa 1998). Will the full size barrel on EAA's sight above fit my Witness? The upper lugs on my current 9mm barrel are peened and rolled over on the edges.

    Thanks!

  2. I have an old school 9mm Witness with the small frame. The barrel lugs are pretty worn and peened, while the inside of the slide still looks brand new. Brownell's used to sell 6" oversized Briley barrels, but haven't now for a few years. I can't find anything on Briley's site.

Is there any place where I can get a new barrel fitted to my Witness? I'd prefer not to get another crappy stock barrel.

  3. I shoot in summer and winter here in NV the temps vary quite a bit.

what I have now is some amazingly consistant WC846 from years ago that I just used up my last 8

    pounds of.

Time to find a new powder.

Oh yeah I am looking for a 3 gun load with 62s and maybe some 55s.

    thanks

    Jim

I read and was told that TAC wasn't temp sensitive. I have not found that to be the case. Nothing touches Varget for consistency in all temps. I just wish it could magically be a ball powder.

  4. 00bullitt,

That is fantastic information! What are you using for a crimp? The Lee FCD? What about the primer? I have been using 25gr of TAC and a Russian primer. I was going to use 2230 and 335, but I read somewhere that they were temp sensitive and that TAC supposedly was not.

Eric, didn't know that about the BC. Thanks.

  5. I've seen you tearing it up with your G21 and your Beretta (I think maybe also your Sig 220 but I'm not sure), but I thought you sold the SV 9mm because you shot it too fast!

10-4 about the smoke at night.  That short Asian guy with his open gun and hot lead reloads can smoke out the whole damn bay!

My wife was cool enough to buy me a membership for Christmas, so I have no excuse not to get out there anymore!  Do you shoot any other matches other than TNS and 3-gun matches at Rio?
