I use my existing "real" rig for my airsoft work.

They are excellent, I get next day service in Cincinnati!

Hi everybody,
Hope you will be able to shed some light on some of this for me. I ordered my Infinity from a distributor (I'm in Europe) in januari. Since that time I have been speaking to some gunsmiths in my area and most, experienced with SVI, have pointed out some things to me leaving me worried that I perhaps made a wrong choice after all..
Here's what has been thrown my way:
- Delivery times, especially outside the US, have grown to 1,5 to 2 years
- Spare parts are impossible to come by (again, outside the US)
- Promised accuracy of the AET barrels is not or rarely achieved
- SVI has started making their own barrels (no more Schuemann), none of the gunsmiths was happy with that apparently (?)
- Interchangeable breachfaces keep coming loose
I should of course keep in mind that the people telling me this are also salesmen, trying to sell me an STI..
Bottomline is this: will I wait for who knows how much longer for the SVI or do I get the STI, which would be mine in 2 weeks, saving me more then €1000 in the process.
Your thoughts are more then appreciated!
I have 3 SVI's and can tell you the salesmen you are dealing with are just trying to shake you up. The SVI's do take some time to get built mine have all been <1 year (in the U.S. which shouldn't matter). Everything else they listed is rubbish and not true.
I also own and STI and the comparison I will make for you is a Ford Mondeo (STI) to a BMW (SV) as far as build quality.
Good luck!

It looks interesting! If it is built in Israel it is likely to be well made.

+1 on AAA

Very nice!

Since you can't shoot Production, L10 is a good division for you. You would have several things going against you in Limited; mag capacity, minor vs. major etc.
Just go out and have fun, the rest will come with time!

I have 15K WSP coming in today from Widners!

I did 800 rounds that didn't make major in 40 cal and just use them for steel.
-
Looks good!

I use a 4" BWC Wilson (steel frame) in a Bullard leather holster which holds it tight to my body. I sold a 3" Kimber Ultra CDP because every time I shot it my teeth hurt. Both guns are/were practiced with often and have been 100% reliable.

USPS
in What I Hate
I've been waiting for a USPS shipment for 3.5 weeks now.

SV now has a smaller diameter metal grip on the market if you're interested.

Essentially this means good to meet you and how is it going or hello depending on your age bracket!

I resemble the tactical tummy and love the ORMM acronym. The reality is I know there is no substitute for experience and since I am newer to the game (don't have the experience) I need to improve my odds elsewhere while I gain the experience i.e. less ORMM - Organic Recoil Mitigation Material. I have added weight training this year and guess I'll just have to use my extra strength for recoil control.

Hafa adai and welcome to the forum.
Chamorro brother here!

I have just finished shooting up 10K (400 rounds still loaded so 9,600) of the Wolf SR primers with only 1 FTF.
-
I've blown through 10K of Wolf SR and had only one FTF in my Open gun.

Yup love these trainers. I initially bought the bands, #1 and #2 thinking no big deal for that jump, WRONG! I have since purchased a #1.5 and warm up with the #1. I am planning to graduate to the #2 by the end of the year as there is no rush.

Very nice!

Laws definitely need to be tougher on idiots like these guys!

+1 on getting opinions from friends. I've used a Ghost for 2 years now and don't see any need to change as it is fast to draw from, secure and light.

I love the ninja clips the best!
Anyone using flat trigger inserts? Why?
in Open Pistols
Posted
I use the flat inserts in my SV Limited and Open guns and one of my 1911's because I like the feel. I'm sure it's just my perception, but my trigger finger senses the reset of the trigger better on the flat then the curved inserts.
