Thanks for sharing! Now to do this with a G10 mica grip.

I'll have my guys start saving them for the club, however I will need pick up help.
I should be able to get a dozen or 2 before the match.

That is what happened to my Vette and my bike, but after 20 years I am finally getting another bike!
Congrats!

I've had 2 SV and 1 Bedell built and all took less then 9 months and all were well worth the wait. I do strongly recommend buying a gun from someone who has been building them for a while. Just because someone is popular or knows how to shoot doesn't make them a qualified (read trained) gunsmith.

I use VV powder and plated bullets and my cost is around .10 cent per round. You can go cheaper with powders and bullets and I know a GM that does and does well.

Your original question was what makes a $10K Open gun better than a $3K gun - my guess is the person pulling the trigger. That of course could go in reverse, with the $3K gun being better.

Is it pretty easy to buy you way into someone rental car or should I just rent one of my own? This is my 1st National (Squad 17) and looking to split the car cost with someone shooting on the same time frame.

I have both and prefer the ball dent. After the Open Nationals I will be converting my primary gun to a ball dent to hold the slide racker.
-
I had the exact problem and determined it was the extractor. I replaced the extractor in the middle of a match and the problem was gone!

Too bad it is the weekend of Nationals!

Bedell Shorty for my load
-
I run 10.1 gr. 3N38 with 121 gr. MTG bullets at 1.24 OAL in my shorty and get 171 PF. NOTE: 165 PF is necessary for Major if you are shooting in the U.S.

Congrats to the winners!

I tumble my loaded rounds in corn cob media for about 10 minutes to get the lube off. I then wipe the rounds down before storage.
