  1. I have run Mitchell RH mag releases in my 2011's and 1911 for over 10 years. I am a RT handed pistol operator.

have small hands and I use my index finger to actuate same. I never have to take my thumb off of the thumb safety while reloading. I have used the Cylinder and Slide model also, but is is not as well constructed as the Mitchell. I have no experience  with the SV, but based on my experience with their other products, I am sure it is top notch. BTW, my Mitchell works fine with both STI and old syle SV mags in my polymer STI grip on an STI frame Edge(.40) and works with both old and new style SV mags in my PT framed and PT grip(9mm) on another 2011 pistol. Minor fitting only needed on the PT grip. Hope this is good intell for someone.

  2. The Stretch barrel is working well for me. IMHO the SLR hg should NOT provide clearance issues with the clamp on SLR GB, but it does...the BCM also req some grinding....unk why Stretch barels come ceracoated anyway....there really is no need for it...but they sure do shoot! I believe this is documented on another thread...

  3. What open 17 said.. I have them on 2 1911's and 2 2011's the Mitchell is the way to go....small hands and fingers may do well... it does for me ..

bigger hands will release the mag when not needed. The Mitchell is the most robust and works in all my pieces and STI and SV mags new and old. Had to bevel a little on the tab for the Trojan though...

  5. Sometimes, when shooters, are given lax rules at local level 1 matches bad habits manifest themselves. When those shooters get to a major match, and penalties are applied accordingly, they learn the error of their ways...this is why the USPSA rules must be applied consistently across the board at all matches...

  6. Get the old gas block and tube assy off the rifle.

CLean the bcg well, look for burrs on the m4 feed ramps, bcg assys. Clean and inspect the bbl gp and the gb gp and tube for damages.

Clean the area around the gas port on the barrel.

Measure distance to center of barrel gas port from the gas port shoulder area and on gas block.

Watch a couple of ways to line up the gas block on you tube. Install as applicable.

Install the gb onto the barrel, use Blu lock tite at set screws and or body of gb if needed.

You may want to test fire for proper operation prior to lock tite.
