  1. Sad to see a faithful friend preparing for a departure.

For me, I'm glad I went in with my dog Tygger so we could be together as she left. . .

I held her head and petted her, all the while telling her what a good dog and friend she was as she slipped away.

When she left she knew I was there for her, as she was for me so many times.

Including your family at your pets's side as he departs may be one of the kindest, comforting things you can do for him.

    Stay strong. . . .

  2. Pink Floyd "The Wall"

Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon"

    Dire Straits 1st album

Led Zeppelin "Houses of the Holy"

    The Who "Who's Next?"

Most favorite Live side: The Eagles Live- Side three!

These are the ones I wore out years ago, but could listen still for hours, sitting in an easy chair haveing a cocktail, and holding up the Album jacket reading the lyrics as the song plays!

    Still a vinyl junkie!

Maybe we should sart a new thread: In heavy rotation or What are you listening to lately?

  3. I fit a triglide to a couple older STI grips. These were used grips.

Seemed the SV was very senistive to how closely the trigger shoe fit in the opening TG from top to bottom.

The bow is fatter on the STI bow also- once I fit a different shoe to the triglide and made it fit the TG area tighter the trigger feel improved greatly and all creep vanished.

No problems with not enough take up. But again, the two grips I fit were approx 3 years old.

A newer STI grip I wanted to fit with a triglide gave me similar take up issues.

    FYI

  4. The Clark Carbon fiber tube on my SBR was cut for me by Clark. If you call them and order from them ask for custom length. Great customer service!

I has them cut the tube and when I received it both ends looked the same- both ends polished and properly finished.

  5. Been using Meguiars' cleaner wax for years. Smells good, cheep.

For a little extra abrasiive action try the higher line fine scratch remover, but you might have to go to the auto parts store for that. . .

Nu finish has a great lasting coating, but litttle or no buffered abrasive. If you want fast cutting action the Meguiares line has the buffered abrasive.

(Safe for the clear coat , dont cha know. . .)

I've also used a bluish powder from Champion Reloading Supplies called Ultra-60. This product leaves much dust to be removed prior to the big dump in the 650 case feeder. However, the cleaning action is quick! This stuff will clean dirty range pick up brass asap!

The car waxes cut down on dust. . but after you squirt a little on the media, close the top and let in run a little to distribute the goo so you wont have a case with a clump of gunk in it.

Been uising the car wax stuff for over 10 years with no problem. . .

  6. I've a new 11.5 for my SBR.

It was suggested to me that the inner bore and chamber might be a bit rough.

    It was.

I ran some JB through the bore with a nylon brush and after several strokes the bore was bright and smooth with much less drag on the patch.

    Polished the chamber slightly.

The gun rins fine in ints configuration with a Miculek comp and funsctions fine with no extraction or other malfunctions yet. . .

  7. I have built an Edge 40 s/w with long wide d/c and unique slide lightened by Gans guns in PA.

It is pretty, light and quick, Infinity /ss magwell and Roupe grip, Zm small m/s housing s/s. Lots of goodies. . .

I also have an Eagle Bushing bbl 40 s/w classic slide, s/s svi magwell and EBG3 grip treatment with s/regular frame assy.

Eagle is 1.5 oz lighter than the Edge and much "flippier". Very similar with similar, almost identical parts. . .

    I think a tungsten g/r will remedy.

The Eagle has the "normal zm m/s housing and regular grip radius. . .

The both guns will fit the box w/o mag but the Eagle is lighter and IDPA legal. . .

The Edge custom gun feels better tho. . . USPSA is the way to go. . .

Both are very similar, but I prefer the Edge, but I would use my my Eagle if I shot IDPA! (Edge is not legal for IDPA)

Once I install the TG GR I may be able to advise further. . .

  8. My 2011 STI mags have all been reliable.

I have 126mms that with the STI/Dawson box legal international pad will run 17 rnds with no problem.

My 140's will run 19 or 20 with the Dawson basepads. All run the GRAMS follower and spring kit.

I/m still fairly new to LTD, but I typically lightly sand with 400grit the feed lips inner and outer to remove any burrs from new mags, and sometimes let a mag, depending on its inner and outer finish go for a ride (alone) in my tumbler with fine walnut media to polish innner and outer surfaces.

So far so good since 2007. . . and of course I keep them clean. . .

Check your sear spring for intrusion into the magwell by both the legs as well as the "ledge" that goes into the catch notch- if either are intruding into the magwell this will prevent mags dropping free.

As set out above, the slide lockback issue is easily remedied. . .

Also check the ejector for proper clearance to the loaded and unloaded mags, it could be that the underside may need to be clearanced to prevent both contact with rounds or feedlips. . .

There is also a Brazos article on slightly grinding the mag release for proper clearancing. . .

  9. Not sure what is going on with Ghost.

I have an "old" model with the wings and a real nice outer faceplate that is shiny thik and looks sort of like carbon fibre, and appears very sturdy and has the rear of the trigger guard area cut out.

The newer unit I purchased that came with what I guess is the newer upper plate that has no wings, but fits fine. This unit came with a cheesy outer faceplate covered in poor quality fake carbon fibre tape and a cheesy looking gold ghost emblem. The rear of this unit's trgger guard is covered.

Some calls I made to Ghost vendors seem to indicate many of the manufacturing runs are different.

Note: both holsters required some "tuning" to get a safe, but easy release of the pistol. Both are for STI/SVI.
