  1. Whidden Gunworks toolheads how good are they? How good is there fit in the press? My first 550 was about 11 yrs ago and it was tight and solid and everything was great and smooth running. The variation .001 to .002 at most on OAL and primers seated dead on .003. Toolhead tight perfect fit. I used mixed brass same results then but loaded only 45 acp back then only. The 550 setup I have now is no where near as good compared to the one I had. Its not completely smooth through out the cycle when cranking the handle mainly in one spot everytime. Primers vary to much when seating and I checked everything. The toolhead fit has to much play. I am interested in UniqueTek 550/650 Toolhead Clamp Kit and other items they offer to improve my press like the turbo bearing and other items. So what all have you used and liked that UniqueTek offers that helped make a difference?
  2. I went with 6.5" wide and 18.5" tall. I am finished with it. When I can I will post pics.
  3. Thanks. Now I just need measurements on them all setup on how much room they take up.
  4. I need measurements of Dillon die stand. I am building a reloading shelf for my table and I got everything done put that part. I don't have any setups yet. I have alotted 18.25" for height. I have designed 6 bay like shelf areas for die stand setups with funnels on them. Each bay I hope will hold 2 setups one behind the other. I need measurements of die stands and also with them all setup with shell plate, dies, and powder funnel. How much room do they take up? I plan on finishing it tomorrow and I will be all done providing I can get some measurements. Thanks.
  5. I check mine with my fingers all the time and keep it clean and never found any shavings or anything on it. I wipe it off a lot but it has never made a difference. I thought about polishing it but though about using some redding tin can of lube forgot what its called but bought couple cans for 50 bmg reloading. Anyone try it? How has it worked? It seems it would be less contaminating with the powder.
  6. I have the same problem and I'm only loading 9mm so far. When I reloaded before with another press 550 years ago on 45 dies I never had that problem. I know I got a good flar and feel like its the best spot set at to keep my bullets from falling or really leaning and easier to go quicker and not have to go slow. A little less flar and its finiky on putting bullets on cases with out them falling. I have forgotten the flar size but will see what it is. It does get annoying when it all the time sticks and I am using once fired cases no new cases too! I bought my dies used though and they look fine.
  7. I use the bottome end of my digital caliper gauge. Its frankford arsenal. All calipers like this one will do it. The problem last night is tad different I am getting seating depth changing some instead of the 5 to 7 thousandths change it was greater. I am getting 1.150 goal up to as much as 1.162. I have not gotten highter than 1.155 or 6 until last night, weird. I did notice some variation in the bullets by couple thousanths or so. The primers though it did same thing I got very little flush ones, few were .0015 and some were .0025 or .003. Most were .005 but the weird part is i got some in the .006-.007 and 8. First time i got some that deep while seating this up. i never had this much inconsistancy in my old press and checked out everything I could and don't know why this is doing it unless its just the mixed brass. They even varied in same manufacture also. My load was seat for 3.6 titegroup with 147 gr west coast bullets and told to use 1.150 col.
  8. It seems speer is consistant .oo4 to .oo5, blazer .003 to .005, pmc fine,r&p fine, most federal but not all, most win not working and are .000 to .001. S&B was ok I think. Most winchester non crimped seat like the crimped pnes I did by accident and couple I tried for comparison. I got crimped FC and winchester and nato versions. I have to go through like 4000-5000 brass now as i know 1 bucket of two buckets is a lot of crimped ones and I know i got to by a dillon swager to fix those. I found a speer also that must have had a crimp it it as it would not load a primer and it smashed the drimp inside that you could not tell was there. I have had 3 cases of brass that I had a hard time getting primer out of as it would almost be out of the brass but not fall and i could not get the brass out of the shell plate or do anything as it locks it all up. I had to constantly deprime it over and over and wiggle the brass some to get the spent primer to drop. I do got my powder measure setup for titegroup now and avg 3.6 but varies from 3.5 to 3.7. The brass I got .003 to .005 or .006 i am going to go ahead and load. Those .002 and less going to sit on them til I figure out if there is anything i can do to fix this issue.
  9. No crimped primers. Its a new RL550B. I am only getting blazer, some RP remington, some pmc seatting right. Winchester I have yet to get anything really past .0015 most are just flush 0.000 to 0.0005. I am throughing the crimped stuff in another bin as all my brass is all mixed up but the win that looks like its not crimped is seating the same as the crimped ones and just as easy either way. I did not find any cracks right off in the bell of the press. With nobrass and primer the lever goes to the bin maxed out point and there is a little feeling of catching in there half way to max point. I only had couple go that far and it was real scratchy non smooth feeling when they did go that far. They seat at .005 to .006. The blazer is staying in the .004 to .006 range. I have kept couple .0025 primed brass abd abything below is seperated. I am trying to get enough to setup my powder station. Is there any win brass that has had seating issues like this? How many of you would use the flush primed brass?
  10. I have a 550B and I am having primer depth issues using fed primers with blazer and winchester 9mm once fired brass. I am getting a lot of .0005 and couple .001 to .0015, and finally I got 3 at .002. Most stayed flush to .0005. The shell plate is tight as I can go and turn it comfortably. I guess the goal is .003. What other things can I do to adjust the seating depth of the primers other than tightening the shell plate to the point were you can't turn it hardly? I had this setup before years ago and only loaded 45 acp then and had no issues. I do push the lever forward fars it will go and i know the issue is with this press setup. I pressed the same primed brass 3 to 4 times each and still got the same readings afterwards. I guess the couple .002 is by luck as they were not that in the beginning first few tries. Its not deep enough for my liking even by touch. Other options?

  12. Yes, people do reload the 5.7x28 on there 550. Elite ammunition is the one that makes the shell plates for the 550. I plan on setting mine up for it sometime soon.
  13. My screw is fine. The primer cup it fine. Its the powder funnel hanging up on the case which my old setup did not do that. Also the white plastic guide sleeve on the guide was the other one causing it, funny how it fools ya sometimes where its coming from. As far as the powder measure arm thing I don't like that it hits the body, if this is normal then I hate it, thats the only annoying thing keeping mine from being smooth now.
  14. The RL550B I had 10 years ago I did not have issues with it at all and completely smooth on everything but this press I am having issues. The two powder arm levers that are gold looking on the side of the powder measure that the rod hooks to. The outer bracket control arm has a bent part that bends inward (the part facing forward) catches and hits the inner corner of the casting of the powder measure. I don't think its supose to be bent at all. Is it supose to be straight. Also I have two other issues not remembering my old I don't think it did it either. The primer bar has a catch place in it when the primer part is going forward toward the shell plate, its when it starts out of the primer tube base it catches not sure if its normal. Also the place is the primer bar- primer cup when it gets to the shell plate it at times catches hard there think on the shell plate or something not sure yet. Ideas?
  15. I had gotten loads in the past on HKPRO but this time I'm not getting any response there. Load I am going to try is 3.6 titegroup at 1.150 col w/ 147gr extreme west coast bullets.
  16. No replies? I bought 8lbs of titegroup powder and will be using Fed primers and once fired brass. I also picked up 500 147gr Berry's plated bullets also so far. I plan on getting zero bullets later in bulk.
  17. Anyone reload for mp5,sw5, and other clones in 9mm? I want to use titegroup and possible w231 but start with tight group and like to use 124 gr or 147 gr bullets. I need a good load that will function in my sw5. My sw5 hates wwb but likes S&B and shoots both good but it malfunctions on wwb. I want most accurate load possible that functions. I also own a uzi. No luck in reloading sections on boards.
  18. I need 9mm FMJ or maybe plated loads in 115gr,124gr, and 147gr that will work great in MP5 and uzi smg's and semi's. Any uzi and mp5 shooters here? I will supress them also at some point soon so if you got a favorite load suppressed and unsupresssed let me know, thanks.
  19. I just ordered the CV-2001 the other day still waiting for it to come probably the end of the week. I got 50 bmg brass to clean as well and read to get it. I may by another one later on. Whats everyones favorite media? How much media you put in the big dillon tumbler? How much dillon polish you add? If you use NU car finish how much you add?
