  1. How about we take the "how should prizes be awarded" split to another thread... Frank
  2. I should also mention that we do still have a few slots for the match... I know of a few entries that are still coming in, but today's mail hasn't come in yet. As of right now, we have 196 competitors. 6 slots left for Friday (this can be expanded if needed) 34 slots left for Saturday 2 slots left for Sunday (1 each in two different squads) I will allow last minute e-mail entries for Friday and Saturday (up until 6pm central time on August 27th). You'll be subject to the $25 late fee ($100 total for the match), and you won't get a t-shirt... but you'll have a slot, rather than having to risk walking in. You can pay at the match. No Sunday e-mail registrations. With only 2 slots left, it wouldn't be fair to anyone who has already mailed their applications. Walk-ins are limited to available slots (which means right now... Sunday is iffy.). You don't have to walk-in the day of the match. You can register the evening the before at the Match Hotel, or prior to the day at the range. As for registering at the match (all competitors), you have three options: 1. Register at the range prior to the day you'll shoot. (We'll be there Thursday-Saturday at least from 6am-4pm) 2. Register the morning of your shoot day. (6:30am-7:30am) 3. Register at the match hotel prior to the day you'll shoot (We'll be at the match hotel from 6pm-8pm Thursday-Saturday) There will be a mandatory range safety briefing at the range at 7:45am each morning of the shoot (except Friday... that's at 8:45). Shooting will start promptly at 8:00am (again... except Friday... that's 9:00am). The matchbook on the website is slightly incorrect. The squad matrix is correct, but the times listed just above it should read as follows: Saturday and Sunday, August 29th – 30th, 2009 6:00am - 7:45am Final stage setup (place paper targets) 6:15am - 7:45am Match Registrat ion at the range 7:45am - 8:00am Shooter safety briefing 8:00am - 12:10pm Competit ion 12:10pm - 1:00pm Lunch break 1:00pm - Until Done Competition Frank
  3. Just got the confirmation from Springfield... 4 xd's are on the way (all are the 4" service models... two 9mm's, one .40 and one .45). I've also acquired 2 STI 1911 frames (one standard, one forged). The prize list has been updated. I don't expect any more additions, as the guns and frames pretty much breaks us even for the match. What I think I'll do with the guns and frames (other than the two that are for the overall champion and the Illinois champion), is allow the division winners choice based on combined order of finish. 4. I don't either... It had been my intention from the beginning to have a raffle... but there is only one gun. For those that didn't see the raffle information... Tickets are $5 or 5 for $20 1st prize: Ruger GP100 .357 (already moonclipped) 2nd prize: 5000 Winchester Large Pistol Primers 3rd prize: $100 Montana Gold certificate 4th prize: $25 Midway USA certificate There may be more prizes, if we have anything left over from the main match. You need not be present to win. The drawing will be held during lunch on Sunday. Frank
  5. OK... I don't think the competitors who brought it up were being malicious. I think they were just concerned that some competitors may be disappointed. BTW... I have a call into springfield for 4 XD's (which was my plan all along). Hopefully that will assuage some. I don't intend to get pistols for L10 and Revo... 13 and 7 are a little small to justify it. If I get the XD's, they will get the airsoft packages from Manny USA, as well as some other stuff. Frank
  6. Yes... the Ruger is the only gun in the raffle. That information was posted here on July 25th... here is the link... http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...t&p=1024134 Before everyone starts complaining to much... yes.. I know the prize table is a little lean at the moment. I am working on getting a few more guns. I thought it best to post what I had right now, and update it later if when we get more guns/frames or whatever. Please note that the prize list does say that it may be updated if more prizes become available. A couple people have made the assumption that everyone who is registered for the match has paid. I wish that was the case... we'd have one heck of a prize table. However, Almost 1/3rd of the competitors registered in the match are in some kind of non-pay status (i.e. staff, class registrants, sponsor slots). Don't forget... out of the match money comes staff food, hotels and perdiem, props, targets, paint, pasters, range transport (atv's), scorecards, matchbooks, ect ect. I have been a lot more open through this forum then I had to be about the match. I could have done like most matches, and just say here's the match, come if you want. I chose not to do that. Frank
  7. No... I bought the revolver. It's to be raffled off, along with some large pistol primers and a couple certificates. Frank
  8. Finally got the prize list done. It's posted over on the website. The minor prizes (slide lube, t-shirts, hats, ect) are in the competitor bags that you will receive at registration. The match got so large, I ran out of advertisements that sponsors sent me to put in the bags As of today, we're at 196 competitors. The t-shirt order went in today, so any entries receive after this point will not receive one. Sorry. Frank http://milanpracticalshooting.com
  9. I have decided to slightly modify my answer to e-mail registrations. I will allow it for Saturday ONLY... as there are still plenty of slots left. You will be subject to the late fee, and I can't guarantee a t-shirt... but I'll try. Frank
  10. No kidding... I expected maybe 100... we're at 194 right now with 10 days left before the match. Here is the current breakdown AFTER the USPSA update (underlined divisions/classes are eligible for awards)... Limited (58 competitors): 3GM, 7M, 8A, 16B, 16C, 4D, 4U Production (51 competitors): 1GM, 1M, 4A, 12B, 16C, 8D, 9U Open (34 competitors): 2GM, 6M, 4A, 9B, 7C, 1D, 5U Single Stack (30 competitors): 1M, 3A, 6B, 13C, 5D, 3U Limited 10 (13 competitors): 1GM, 1M, 9C, 2D Revolver (7 competitors): 1M, 2B, 3C, 1U There will also be awards for: High Lady, High Junior, High Senior, High Super Senior, and High LE. One last thing... to answer a question that I received in the mail today... Q. Will you let me register for the match (squad) by submitting the entry form by email. At this point, I don't see benefit of sending it by mail. I will pay the entry fee when arrive if that is not a problem. A. Sorry, but no. I've had to many problems in the past with people registering via e-mail, taking up a slot, and then not showing up. Besides that, it's unfair to those who have registered by mail. Especially if they are trying to get one of the few remaining slots for Sunday. Please don't think that I am saying that you'll do this. It's simply a matter of a few bad apples spoiling it for everyone. We will allow walk-ins, up to match capacity. At this point, there are a 6 slots left for Friday, 36 left for Saturday, and 3 left for Sunday. Although... some of these are sure to be taken when the mail is delivered today. Frank
  11. You posted right around the time I was imputing yesterday's entries. Might have just been a hiccup. Frank
  12. The mail just came today... got 8 more entries... we're up to 187 competitors. As of now, there are only 5 slots left for Sunday (although I MIGHT be able to squeeze out 4 more... don't know yet). There are plenty of slots left for Saturday... 40. I can fit about 6 more in on Friday if that's the only day you can shoot. Here is the current breakdown (which may change slightly after the classification updates next week)... Limited (55 competitors): 3GM, 7M, 7A, 15B, 16C, 3D, 4U Production (50 competitors): 1GM, 1M, 2A, 14B, 16C, 8D, 8U Open (34 competitors): 2GM, 6M, 4A, 9B, 7C, 1D, 5U Single Stack (28 competitors): 3A, 6B, 11C, 4D, 4U Limited 10 (13 competitors): 1GM, 1M, 1B, 8C, 2D Revolver (7 competitors): 1M, 2B, 3C, 1U We may be picking up another couple GM's in the next few days... 1 open, and 1 limited or limited 10. Frank
  13. There are still 2 slots in the class if you are still interested. Frank
  14. Just a friendly little reminder.... today is August 15th... the last day to get your registrations postmarked before the late entry period begins. Frank
  15. Actually... while I was BS'ing at one of the gun shops the other day, they got 3 calls looking for some shot. Didn't have any. They've been getting bullets no problem... but not any shot. I think if you sold the primers for what they are worth, you wouldn't have a problem. They know that it's gonna cost you so much to replace them. Frank
  16. No problem... That was my initial reaction as well. Having been a truck driver for 10 years.... more than likely they put the trailer in one of their yards, and promptly forgot about it. Of course, when called, the shipper says it's been sent, here's your shipping confirmation. The transporter won't give them a straight answer. That tells me one of two things... they misplaced the trailer in the yard (it happens), or they DON"T HAVE A FREAKING CLUE.... more than likely both. Frank
  17. I know how you feel. I have exactly 990 large pistol primers on my shelf. One of our local shops (actually all three...) are awaiting a truck full, that is a month behind schedule. They've been shipped... but the shipper has lost the trailer. The trailer also has a bunch of powder, bullets and guns... grrr Go figure. I think they pulled over and sold them out the back. Frank
  18. That's kinda the point I've never seen a midwest sectional get this size... then Indiana has 207, and we're getting pretty dang close to that... So much for the economy and lack of primers... Hope y'all have a great time at the match. My crew and I are busting our butts trying to put on a good one for ya. Frank
  19. I'll mention it again, in case anyone needs the service... I am accepting ammunition shipments if you do not want to fly with your ammo. UPS them to: Frank Wolverton 2602 N Division St Davenport, IA 52804 I will hold them unopened, and have them at match registration, so make sure your name is on the outside somewhere. Frank
  20. With my AR and 75gr MatchKings... I zero for 300 yards. The highest the bullet goes over my sight line is 1 1/2 inches. Frank
  21. You're kidding me... flex is a GM? ewwww... Actually... I don't know if he is or not... don't know his real last name... Frank
