Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Anybody in Area 4 in the Houston area?
  2. + another for WWB Blazer Brass at Walmart is cheaper and just as good as the WWB. I've been using them with no problem for thousands of rounds.
  3. Yes he is fast. Four division GMs tend to be that fast. I may not be winning any local matches yet, but most of the time I can hold my own against the four Production GMs in the area. My time will come! mattk I am definitely watching your progress as I plan on starting Production with a 226 ... maybe I am more determined because most says Glock!
  4. First thanks to your insightful post. You probably just point out something that tells why I plan to use a Sig to begin with. I own a CZ P-01 and Sig P229. I've owned the CZ longer and LOVE to shoot it, but I am not as accurate with it as my SIg. So even though I am decent with the CZ (I know it's not the SP-01), the Sig serves me better so far. I also own a XD-9sc and let me tell you, I LOVE shooting it and I am pretty accurate with it as well. So I am not counting out a striker fired pistol at all. Unfortunately the XD9sc is my wife's gun so I don't get to shoot it that much. I haven't had a chance to shoot any Hk much ... only the P30 briefly, so the jury is still out on the HK for me. I guess I'll just need to try them all to find the best, but since I am the most familiar with Sig, I also have the desire to help make it more visible in the local scene.
  5. You're going to BUY a Sig to use in USPSA Production division? Everyone I know that's used a Sig for USPSA did so because they already had one or it was a duty weapon...at least as far as I can recall. <insert chuckle and good nature> Dude, that's not bucking the trend, that's bucking crazy! I'm not a fan of DAO/SAO guns, but if I had to pick one for Production, I'd probably suggest a Beretta 92/96 (carried one for six years). Much easier to shoot well, even in my experience. R, Why not .... THe way I look at it, the Gun itself is like computer hardware, and ammo is like software. Over the long haul, the price of ammo or reloading cost should be a lot more worrisome than the initial sunk cost of the gun itself. Maybe I am hardheaded, but I don't see why a Sig or HK can't be competitive with the Glocks, XD, and M&P. Don't get me wrong, I love shooting my XD9, but I just don't want to go into this sport using what the majority is already using ... but later if I find compelled to use a stiker fired to keep up, then of course I will consider a switch
  6. Seen anyone shooting the P30 for Production? I am currently deciding to go with the Sig P226 ST Elite or HK P30. I've decided to buck the trend of the Glock crowd.
  7. As long as it's not over 2 oz heavier than a stock Elite, you are fine with it in USPSA Production. My SIG All Around is heavier than the Elite and it's legal. It's IDPA that won't let either of us play with our SIGs. Craig I hope the 226 ST Elites are approved in Production, but this links says otherwise ... what gives? http://www.uspsa.org/rules/production_list.php
  8. Hmmm .... looks like no Elites are on the list. What is the approximate time to get it added on the list? I know the rule book might state it but I am looking for actual experiences. Thanks.
  9. I would like to know as well ... specifically the all Stainless Elite.
  10. I am bringing this old thread back because I am contemplating starting USPSA Production soon and I've been shooting DA/SA most of my shooting life. I want to use a P226 or a HK P30 for this cause. Like most things I do I like to buck the trend so I've decided not to go with a Glock. With that being said, would anyone recommend getting a regular 226 and have Gray Guns install the competition package, or get the P266 ST Elite? What about the HK P30? It's a sweet shooter at the range can it be competitive? I currently shoot a P229 and I am pretty accurate with it.
  11. If that was the case we would all be shooting water guns... Even water cost more nowadays
  12. As far as cost of the gun is concerned, shouldn't one worry more about the cost/Caliber of ammo since gun cost is minor over the long run than ammo cost?
