EAA a third party vendor. They buy, then resell. It just happens that Tanfo deals only with them for USA import and distribution. EAA isn't going to order custom guns for anyone; they can barely handle customer service. Hopefully patriot defense wins the next contract for importation from Tanfo...

Is that speculation or confirmed? Hadn't heard they were trying to get an import contract, but if they did I'd buy another SIII from PD just to support them.

  2. Memphis, it has been a few months since my switch from the G34 to the S3. Would you agree with me in that shooting the S3 is "easier" than the G34? I think that I can shoot the G34 as well as the S3, but not as consistently and I have to work more to achieve similar results.

The light SA trigger and 2.5lb weight of the gun sort of fill in any grip issues for me. Whereas the G34 is a lighter gun and a heavier trigger, so I have to "drive" it more. If you don't death grip the G34, you get punished.

He would be at a huge disadvantage to the heavily comp'd and ported guns.  Those things are tuned to run flat.

Can probably add a comp down the road too. Was just noticing no reason that gun has to run minor scoring.

It really has to do with feel and i guess you get a "tuned" ear for what it sounds like when the hammer drops. Usually you start with a highly polished FPB and FP, drop the hammer several time sin DA/SA, remove the pieces and inspect for penning around the areas the FPB and FP make contact.

Can you confirm you have our Firing Pin Spring in the gun as well?

Yes, this one has the enhanced spring.

I did some polishing of the FPB and FP to tried and look for penning. If it is happening, hard for me to see. I'll try to make some time to test with and without the FPB to see if that allows for DA ignition using the new firing pin.

Try taking the firing pin block out and shooting it. That's a pretty helpful test, in these cases.

I'll try that too and see if there is any change.

My gun runs on the pin that Patriot Defense fitted and polished, but if this could get me an even better primer strike than I am all for this pin.

Any good links to fitting the pin to the FPB if that is the culprit?

Out of curiosity, have you verified your not dragging across the FPB with the new pin?.?.?..... I know you where 100% before, was the same spring used, same ammo? Also what did the ever trusted "pencil test" look like with your gun? Just asking as i find it interesting if the pencil launch shows the pencil launching higher one way or another.

Sorry, did not test any drag with the new pin. I will take a look at that. Same batch of ammo using winchester primers and same springs. Primers seated below flush.

I did the pencil test and the new pin did throw the pencil higher. Not sure what conclusions to draw from that.

  7. I'd like to give some completely anecdotal information specific to my gun alone. My SIII was built by Patriot Defense last year. 13lb hammer spring, polished up factory pin, bolo int, titan hammer, etc. Has their whole reliability and trigger job.

I decided to buy this pin, not because I was having issues, but to see if it would help with a really heavy primer like CCI. My goal was to have a few "setups" I could use given any primer availability.

-13lb spring, factory pin, Winchester primers work on DA/SA

-13lb spring, this new pin, Winchester primers won't pop on DA (they will on SA)

I'm throwing the 14lb hammer spring and will test these two pins again with Winchester and the hard CCI primers. I'll do the same with the 15.5lb that is on the way.

Tg does smoke a ton with coated. Try n320 or w231. N320 produces the least amount of smoke. W231 still has noticeably less smoke than tg as well.

Agreed. I am using W231 / HP38 with coated rounds. Tiny little poof of smoke.

  9. Word of warning guys. Avoid FreedomAmmunition.com.

I ordered some 10/27. Most orders are supposed to ship within 3-5 business days. On 11/4  I ask them what the hold up is. They explain the order is on warehouse c and that information was included in my invoice. (which I never received). Email also explains that warehouse is on a 21 day backlog.

After 30 days I email them again to ask if something is wrong. They just explain again about a massive delay at warehouse c.

On 12/7 I email to cancel the order. I also call them, but as usual I get no response. I leave a message to cancel my order and include the order number. Hours later I get a shipping notification from them. They will not respond to my following emails asking what the hell is the problem, since I tried to cancel this.

Fast forward to testing the ammunition on 12/29. Loaded a magazine with 17 rounds. Round #9 was a squib with tons of unburnt powder, so either the primers are crap or the powder is getting contaminated. I cannot trust this ammunition.

After still getting zero help from these guys I posted a review on BBB and google maps. They called me on a different private number and left me a voicemail asking me to amend the review and they will replace my ammo.

This morning they left me a voicemail that their attorney would contact me for defamation of character.
