  1. Ghost 360's on my limited/PCC/steel challenge belt. Thing I do not like is the plastic is higher than CR, so less of the magazine exposed. It is really great to use Glock, Tanfo, and 2011 mags without pouch modification.

I run some airsoft CR speed knockoffs on my production belt. Bullets forward, tons of the front of the magazine is exposed for me.

If you already bought CR speeds, then just adjust to fit the Tanfoglio large frame mags. I think you'll find pouches are all about personal preference and don't make a huge difference.

  2. My S3 is approaching one year old and I'd estimate the round count in the 12k range, as I do about 1k rounds per month. Dry fire I do some DA pulls, but often the gun is out of battery to simulate SA pull. No hammer drops.

This was my initial thought on maintenance. Anything I should be doing?

    -New recoil spring

    -New extractor spring (extra power)

    -New hammer spring

    -New firing pin spring

    -New firing pin block spring

I didn't really imagine and hard parts need replacement, but would the firing pin retainer need to be done preventatively?

  3. Sounds like more will be on the way. This is great news.

    Hello Carl,

As I understand it, the STOCK I pistols that we import from Tanfoglio are considered large frame.  Any gun that has previously been imported through Tanfoglio’s Florida based group will remain exclusive to them, while newer products and designs would be available to IFG.  I don't have much more to report on future projects at this time other than we have been told there is a chance for another model around the SHOTShow time frame.  Stay tuned……

If she doesn't like the CZ let her get her hands on an M&P with the small backstrap. It's possibly the thinnest / smallest gun in production that's competitive.

FNS 9L has essentially zero backstrap and is even smaller. Sevigny runs it well enough too. I had one for a short period, the main problem was lack of aftermarket trigger support.

  5. I've got CGW down the road from me, but Patriot Defense or BSPS is very quick to ship parts. I wouldn't let parts availability impact the choice. My CGW CZ75 is like an antique compared to the newer Tanfoglio guns or the new Shadow 2. Ergos, weight balance, trigger.

The shadow 2 is "easier" to make a super light trigger that can hit hard primers. A tuned Tanfoglio will be better than an out of the box shadow 2 and for slightly less money.

I've played with the shadow 2 and shoot a stock III nearly every weekend. I can shoot either just as well as the other. If you already have small frame magazines, then maybe stick with CZ as EAA doesn't import many small frame tanfos.

I just ran into this exact issue with a new Hiperfire ECLipse. Except I did not even get a chance to shoot it as it is doing it from the install.

    My rig:

    QC10 Colt lower

    JP GMR-13 complete upper

    JP SCS

I tried the it on another brand stripped lower I have and it did the same thing. Thinking I got a bad trigger or ???

I'm still waiting to hear back from hiperfire. They asked what safety selector I was using.

Be sure and report back on it's performance. Smoothness, weight, tension adjustment (good, or bad), etc.

    Thanks, Mike.

Also, let me know if the chicks dig it.

Well, things went way way better than my thin bladetech that binds on me.

First I did a lot of dry fire draws until it stopped removing kydex. The gun basically cut it's way in.

The gun does rock around a bit in the holster, but the retention on the trigger guard is good enough it won't shake out.

I've always had a problems with the bladetech if my draw wasn't perfectly straight up and down with the body. Angle side angle would cause it to seize.

Today I shot the classifier "six" which is a turn and shoot. I'd actually been missing promotion due to having draw problems on classifiers. Not today! Gun came right out and smooth. Looks like I'll move up classes on Tuesday's update. Unless they throw it out for being too high of a percentage. :-(

Obviously the holster body didn't promote me, but it has been completely consistent the past two days of dry fire and the one match.

In the future I'll probably only order RHT body's. Maybe Comp-tac, as I've always had success with them too. I'll never buy another bladetech and actually ordered a Comp-tac body first, but it didn't fit the newer SIII dust cover and had to exchange it for the bladetech.

  8. Got my RHT holster yesterday, much less floppy than my old bladetech. Originally I ordered a Comp-tac for my SIII, but the holster was for the older model with a smaller dust cover. Anyway, this one seems less susceptible to binding. I'll do some dry fire with it this weekend and run it in a match on Sunday.

The gun will sort of rock around inside this holster, but still has good retention. If you crank down the trigger guard enough to stop it, then it is extremely difficult to remove. Never had a kydex holster fit quite like this one, but will give it a shot.

So I got 3 old style STI mags, and one new style one. Along with a Para to STI conversion mag catch from Canyon Creek

Problem is, the STI mags are too tall. There is a fair amount of up and down play for the mag due to the mag catch slot, and if fully inserted the slide smashes into the feed lips. If I apply downward pressure on the mag as I drop the slide, the mag falls out of the gun. If I load a few dummy rounds and hand cycle the gun, it works half the time, and falls out of the gun half the time.

To remedy this, I took some material off of the tops of the feed lips of the new style STI tube I got, and that mag feeds reliably now and stays locked in the gun. I ran about 120 rounds through it without issue. I'm just a bit hesitant to do it to all three without getting some feedback first, because the old style tubes have a slightly different feed lip profile than the new ones.

I'm using a Dawson posilock. I sand the sides, front and back of the STI magazines to get them to drop free. The issue is that the trigger bar and sear spring actually pinch the magazine into the gun for me.

If you lock back the slide, press the mag release and the trigger, the mag falls freely. The back of the STI mag had a little curve to it, so I remedied that with a punch and hammer.
