  1. The first two I shot. First one with a .40 S&W and the second with a .223. My bad. The third one was blown over by a sudden gust of wind and stopped functioning immediately after impact with the ground! Go figure. Maybe my bad again.
  2. I ran into this proboem years ago so I called Dillon. The tech rep I talked with told me to try Federal primers as they were the softest and seat easier. I took his advice and now use only Federal primers in all handgun calibers in both my SDB and 550B. As long as I pay attention to what I'm doing I don't have problems with high primers anymore. neil
  3. All of the above are correct. It's one of those things that is really easier then it sounds. If you saw it done once you would understand right away.
  4. I originally classified with a S&W Model 39, but now I use a Glock 19. I am a revolver and 1911 fuddy-duddy and don't shoot SSP much, but I am classified just in case I want to switch guns for the heck of it.
  5. It's been more than a few years since I shot pins but we used to set a five pin single tier table as follows: .22 rim fire, handgun and rifle-back edge of the table. .38 and 9mm in the middle of the table. everything else was on the front of the table with classes for revolver and semi-auto We shot rifles, carbines and shotguns from 35 feet, with the pins on the front of the table. My wife was just getting into the 12 gauge when we stopped having the matches locally.
  6. I shoot all four of them and switch around often. It sort of makes me good with all types, but master of none. CDP-Kimber Stainless Classic SSP-Glock 17/S&W M-39 ESP-Browning HiPower/Springfield 9mm SSR-S&W M-19/S&W M-625 I love them all!
  7. I too, am a four division Sharp Shooter who saved $40. My problem is that I have slowed way down and can't see the sights very well anymore. I have to compete with the kids on their way up as I slowly slide downhill. Oh well, at least I'm still able to get rounds out!
  8. We have an IDPA "Practice" session every Tuesday evening at an IDPA club. It's not really a match. We do some rather different stages and strings to practice certain skills. Occasionally this will require that we download our mags to force a reload just for the practice. I shoot a wheel gun most of the time. Several times the SO has offered to alter the COF to six round strings so I could compete on a more even keel. I always tell them that I carry a wheel gun by choice and expect no special treatment.
  9. If you asked my wife she would tell you that I really don't need much of an excuse to buy a new gun, but I did HAVE to get a couple new ones for IDPA so that I could shoot better in all four Divisions. When it come to buying new toys, anything is a good reason.
  10. Flexmoney, I've been away for a spell and haven't been visiting this forum. I live in Erie County about 4 miles south of THE lake. I shoot at- South Cuyahoga Sportsman's Club, North Olmsted Sportsman's Club, Youngstown Rifle & Pistol, The Shooting Gallery in Boardman, Ashland Lake Gun Club, and I shot in the first match held by the newest IDPA club in Ohio, United Conservation & Outdoor Association. I used to shoot at Fireams Unlimited in Milan and Ohio Practical Shooters at Copley before they had to shut down.
  11. I do shoot IDPA and love it. I started in USPSA about ten years ago. It was a lot of fun and I burned a whole bunch of ammo. I went crazy waiting for a month between matches! Drove me nuts. After several years IDPA started up. It sounded interesting and more to my liking. When a few clubs formed in northern Ohio I was on the road. I joined IDPA about the second year of its existence. I shoot at about five different clubs within an hour or two from my house. I've shot in both of the Ohio State Matches. The first one in SSP and this year in SSR, where I belong. I'm a Sharp Shooter in SSP, CDP and SSR, but can't get out of Marksman in ESP with my HiPower. Something always messes up due to "Operator Error". I've ordered a Springfield 1911 Loaded in 9mm to increase my chances of moving up to Sharpshooter in ESP. (because Kimber doesnt make a 9mm). Lke the man says "It's ALL good."
