  1. Thank you for the quick reply. I have passed the info on to her and hopefully will be able to find more. :D:cheers:

If she uses the SCT mags she might have to sand a little on the plastic basepad in order to make it easier to seat the mag. Some of the SCT basepads touch the X5 magwell slightly. Just enough to require a firm shove to ensure the mag is locked in place.

  2. Topgun supply has them a bit cheaper.

Of course you can always use the 9mm SCT 20 rd mags. which go for around $28-$30 at either Topgun Supply or gregcotellc.com

  3. I'd like to see a definitive statement come out of the meeting regarding distribution of the new rulebook. Will a printed copy be sent to every member? And if not, how each member of the BoD votes on the matter.

I would like to see that as well.

  4. Well that is either a Beretta 92(or 96) Target PGC with the adjustable rear sight replaced with a fixed sight or a standard 92 that has had the target conversion kit installed. The kit consists of a 150mm barrel and the aluminum barrel sleeve.

Either way I think it would be covered under the "Any complete handgun or components with a minimum production of 500 units by a factory and available to the general public." Now the question is since this is all factory Beretta components would this still fall under prohibited modifications.

  5. Sorry about the issue on 7. I admit my palm-Fu is lacking but when I went to enter the score and the screen went blank I was really screwed.

We were trying get the squads through at a good pace so you guys didn't have to stand around any longer than necessary. To that end we were letting the squads paste behind me as I scored as long as the score wasn't questionable. If we had not allowed the targets to be pasted until all were scored Mark wouldn't have had a reshoot but it would have taken longer to get everyone through.

But I will have to say in the end IMO the palms do have an advantage. No system is perfect. Not even the "old fashion" paper system. With the minimal staff we had it would have taken forever to tally all the scores the "old" way.

  6. I have a ghost holster for my limited gun which seems to work great. I just picked up and open Tanfoglio with the big square trigger guard that won't fit in there so I will need a new holster. I just found the SpeedSec 5 holster online that is recommended for that gun. It seems a lot like the ghost so that is good. Does anyone have any experience with it? What would be some other good choices?

You might look at the DAA Race Master. It operates similar to the Ghost and they have an insert for the Tanfoglio.

  7. Different Wideners. It is not the place you are thinking of....

how many wideners in Johnson City Tn are there then...

I don't know but guy that works for Wideners stated on ARFCOM that it was not one of their facilities.

or maybe it is them....who knows. They still answered the phone this afternoon.

  8. To me the whole "do not put in carry guns" turns me off of appex. I don't want anything on my gun that would make it a liablity should I choose to use it for self defense or carry.

I got a scary light tirgger on my Kimber. I don't mess with that gun loaded at all unless I'm in the starters box.

I guess I am missing something on your comment on the Apex parts considering they have a carry/service kit and a competition only kit. True they don't recommend putting the competition only kit in a carry gun because it brings the trigger pull down around 2.5lbs.

  9. Yes, Bruce Gray makes a guide rod that replaces the ALLRound’s system. However you can use Wolff springs on the current system. I use a Wolff 14lb in mine with the last coil and a half removed. Removing the coil was necessary to make the spring the proper length to prevent coil bind issues.

  10. No reason you cant win with a SIGPro!!

They are great guns. The only reason I stil don't compete with my SP2009 is due to the size of my hands. On mag changes part of my palm tended to go in the magwell with the new magazine. :surprise:

My SP was worked over by APW

  11. This is a hobby. Why do some wish to rule it to death???

IMO there is no loophole. It is up to the shooter to determine how he wants to shoot a stage. There should be minimal rules for safety and a minimal outline of the basics nothing more.

Part of the game is to take those rules and plan your strategy within those rules. The rules should not dictate a shooters strategy. If for example Micah wants to activate the target after he shoots it that should be entirely up to him. Everyone else also has the same option. Personally I activated it then shot it. Was I at a disadvantage to Micah or anyone else that shot it in a similar manner?? Maybe, maybe not. In this example Micah could have shot that stage wearing a blindfold with his right hand taped to his butt and he probably still would have beat me. The point is it doesn’t bother me one bit. I am there to have a good time. To me learning how to “game” a stage is part of the challenge. Take all that away because someone wants to dictate every action through rules, rules and more rules and you will kill this sport.

  12. I have one more scoring correction to make (we only had a few, plus a couple of people listed as minor that were major and a couple of people that needed to be listed as senoir) and then will make the match scores final.

Again thanks for all the great comments about the match, the staff and the stages. Aron and I have already been in discussions today about next year...........

You guys certainly did a great job pulling this one off especially considering the weather related obstacles you encountered along the way.
