We are please to announce the 1st annual United States 3 Gun Amateur National Championships be held at Fire For Effect Range outside Columbia, MO. on September 27-29, 2013. This is the same range and management as the CMMG Midwest 3 Gun Championships. This match is open to all amateur shooters and shortly, we will announce the requirements to be able to attend. We feel that it is important top support the vast majority of the 3 Gun competitors who are not sponsored professionals, but amateur shooters with their own championships. These shooters are great ambassadors and are what sustains and advances our sport. We will be using the Lewis class system in each division to divide shooters into A, B, and C classes and will award prizes in the same manner giving everyone a chance at a top tier prize. Essentially, there will be a A, B and C Class National Champion in each division followed by 2nd, 3rd place etc. Divisions are: Tac Ops Tac Iron Open Heavy Metal Heavy Tac Ops We will be launching a new website soon...stay tuned Entry form enclosed. We originally picked the date of October 20-21 becuase it was the only weekend where there wasn't a Missouri home football game and therefore no hotel rooms. We feel it is more important to not conflict with Andy Horners' Blue Ridge Match than to worry about hotel rooms at this point. ... There were a few other stages that could have been tweaked a bit to improve the quality of those stages. All had to do with the rifle portion of those stages.... Craig The only tweak that I suggest would be not to tell us which port order to shoot the rifle barricade on stage 2, why must the shooter go prone first? Or restrict how we shoot the low port (some of us would have shot it roll over prone or some form of modified roll over prone on the knees.) The off hand rifle at 75 yard-ish c-zone steel sure put a smile on my face ...that was fun! Sorry, That was a function of RO's without a lot of experience. You should have been able to do it however you wanted. Ken

Please note: Competitors will not have to do forced un-loads under the clock this year! Competitors will be able to leave grounded firearms as long as they are safe. The CMMG Midwest 3 Gun Championships is a part of the National Championship Points Series. Major Sponsors include: Midway USA, DPMS, Adcor Defense, Nordic Components, Hornady, Blade-Tech. We are happy to announce that the dates for the 2011 CMMG Midwest 3-Gun Championships will be May 20-22. Those shooters who attend the Bianchi Cup in Columbia will be able to come in earlier and shoot this match the weekend before. We have made some important changes from last year: First, we will hold the entry cut off to 180 shooters including sponsors. 230 was a bit much last year. Second, Loaded guns on safe will be able to be abandoned during the stage. We have devised a way to unload these guns and make them safe without taking extra time. Third, we are designing several fun side matches. We are also proud that The CMMG Midwest 3-Gun Championships will be a part of the 3-Gun National Championship Point Series.
