I use +.75 to my distance prescription in my shooting lens and same bifocal (right lens) My left lens is is the same. I put a piece of tape over the left lens for irons.

This will give you good front sight and not so fuzzy target. It's called a controlled blur.

sorry just to be clear (i've read the same before )     you are adding +.75 to front sight focus?

i've been hitting the range daily to confirm prescription.   while shooting both eyes open i'm still seeing a bit of a double image   with the blurry /front sight focus image is the good one....   i'm told that the +.75 will help merge the "double vision"

  2. today's range session with scrip     fell apart at 10 and 15 yards!!!!

    still good at 3-7yard ?!

how far past front sight (towards target) did you your optometrist set scrip/focus? or what change from actual front sight focus?

  3. I got a cheap pair of percription  glasses to test occupational scrip/ shooting perscription

got a cheap pair to test the percription before ordering final pair of glasses

non dominant eye almost no correction for distantance

dominant eyes rx'd for just past front sight focus. Single perscription

im very excited to see front sight crisp again!!!

shot about 50 rounds today, quick indoor range trip...  I'm back to both eyes open and faster target acquisition, much tighter shot groups....   (still need a little more time with them of a bit off  left right)

on these test test glasses Dominant eye is a single  lens

now I'm questioning if I should go to bi focal for dominant eye?

if I do go bi focal, is top or bottom for near field vision?

part of me is thinking go with single  on dominant eye ... thinking I'll end up bobbing head on site /target acquisition with bi focal lens..and keeping solution a simple as possible....

I imagine brain brain will Eventually accommodate to  scrip to allow you to see well enough to move.....

i need to to have new glasses ordered before this insurance year end.

i couldn't get contact lenses to work.

    please advise....

    thanks in advance!

  4. I have an extra lower laying around I want to convert to  9mm

what conversion block or kit do you suggest?

Other than hahn I can't justify $200.  For that amount   I'd get a dedicated lower

i also prefer lock back on last round   LRBHO.

  5. CZ is notoriously tight,   I was able to get these to run well. I prefer the flat point, a bit more accurate but finicky with brass. but the round nose

    also worked well.

Something doesnt sound right .......  glocks tend to be very generous.....

did you smoke, or marker loaded cartridge to see where interference is?

i had issues with 147 flat points with certain head stamps,   Having issues at the "hips"

  6. While not tacticool..... the very discrete, Home Depot husky  tool bag,  I've been using the 12inch and 18" bag husky bag from Home Depot. When loading for multiple guns the 18inch bag.   Most of my gear as has heavy nylon bags, or padded bags already.

I've been told by optometrist's they the grey are the best, the last 2 pair that I bought have them. At least for me, they work great in Arizona.

  8. I picked one up on sale/Black Friday....  birthday present to myself.

    Out of box impression,

    Likes:

the value, the 3 year battery life if left on,   Mixed with solar solar capabilities,   Even longer life, inexpensive replacement battery. The 65 moa circle with 2 moa dot.1/3 cowitness.   Comes with tiny torx to screw in battery oompartment. And Allen to fine tune quick release,  built in kill flash

sturdy plastic box. Able to switch between circle /dot reticle to dot only,   Variable power,  setting where solar is primary then switch to battery ass needed .  The 65 moa circle almost automatically finds and sticks to target. Cr 2032 battery inexpensive and available at local drugstore..  my first one has expensive battery with poor, shelf life.

    Dislikes:

no sleep or auto on function.  I like the idea of front and rear attached caps but they are not removable they hinge at bottom and don't open flat, and seem to take up real estate on rail.    Although. I don't run anything else on rail.. not as compact as other models. And slighlly heavier.   But don't really notice that weight when aiming The flip caps add to size. Maybe 3/8 inch on both front and back.   In spite of added size it's much more compact than my first red dot.

Initial impression is very good for "budget"  red dot , so far.

I'm going to zero and shoot with tomorrow

anyone else running one?   Opinions?  ( found one bad review here)

  9. So I think I finally think I got the right "occupational" / shooting only prescription for my shooting glasses.       I'll have cheap trial pair in a week or so to confirm  prescription works for my shooting style.   I'm thinking of final order with safety lens etc etc,      I have the option for transition / photochromic ..... clear in low light darkens in bright light.   I have choices of gray, graphite green, and brown. . I shot fiber optic fron sight on hand gun, red dot on carbine.  Scope on dmr stick.    With the gray lens darkening with polarized option.    What do you suggest?

    Dry fire.

What times are you getting on a one-handed Bill Drill ?

    tonight i averaged 6.3  best was 5.3

i think i found issue ....draw to first shot  was at 2.7 ish  at beginning of session worked on it was able to get down to 2.3's  ......  .  feels like forever to get sights aligned,

changed to strong side foot forward.  trying different arm/shoulder alignment,  i kept returning  bit of a higher shoulder position, higher than 2 hand, i was able to get on the sights faster

feeling stronpger, and faster, more accurate

i think the answer here is .......  more dry fire..more live fire....more timer..... now to add more goats with weak hand only.....

i admit  it while a trying session today it was the most productive I've had in along time.....

  11. single hand shooting is one on my goats.   sure question includes weak hand,  but for now i'm concentrating on strong hand...  i've been using the 5x5 drill as an exercise regularly,  with string 2 progress is extremely slow. ( draw strong hand 5 shots 10 yards).  i work this weak skill regularly.    i'm sure over time and practice it will improve.

i recently converted to vertical  vs. slight cant.

    Tips please.

  12. Given 2.26 coal is max forAR mag length
