I have a few guns that seem to be setting off primers sufficiently, but unfortunately those slide are not optic ready.

Hmmmm.... I am wondering what could be a factor from a trigger standpoint, since the Apex uses the factory striker spring.

Maybe something is not allowing the Striker Block from getting moved?

Swapping out slides seems to make things worse.

  3. I have several M&P 9s with the Apex both 1.0 and 2.0.  I have one with the Timney Alpha.  I prefer the Apex, but it seems the Alpha may be a little more consistent setting off primers.  Even with Federal primers I get occasional light strikes with the Apex triggers.

Are you all finding a difference in primer ignition, Apex 1.0 vs Apex 2.0 vs Timney Alpha?

Or does this just very gun to gun?

Before I needed an optic I shot 2011s and never had this problem.

I have been really happy with the Springer Precision speed shooter magwell and it has worked well for me. The only downside is that you have to also purchase and use their baseplates, which are not cheap. But, it is extremely high quality.

Do you have it on a 2.0 compact?

I assume it will work with full size magson the compact without any specific baseplates???

  5. I need suggestions for a magwell for a M&P 2.0 9c.

I was looking at Floyd's magwell, but it says not to remove it.  I would like to be able to remove it and use it with standard 15rnd mags whenever I want to.

This is the one I got. You can choose your attachment method when ordering.
Feels just like a blade tech.

Which attachment do you use/suggest?  I generally prefer a medium drop (about 1 inch).  I like the Blackhawk medium drop.  It might line up properly to bolt on, but it might not.

  7. I've done 3 of these semi fit Apex M&P barrels.  I'm happy with the first 2.  The accuracy is very good on them.  On the 3rd one I think I was starting to figure out the fitting process a little better.  It is more accurate than any of my 3 custom 6 inch 2011 guns.

  8. Looking for recommendations for my next powder.  I am running out of a lot of CSB1 powder I purchased years ago.  I have been very happy with it for 9mm.  My normal bullet is a 135 coated Bear Creek.  I'm looking for soft, clean, accurate, and low smoke with coated bullets.   I have tried Titegroup, WST, WSF, and Accurate #2.  I prefer the CSB1 to all of them for various reasons.  Titegroup is louder and snappier.  WSF and AA2 are dirtier.  WSF is a bit too temp sensitive for my liking.

    Any suggestions?

I have a qc10 colt lower and like everything else in our world reliability come down to good mags and how badly you change the basic 100 year old sub gun technology to make it shoot softer

I run a mix of PSA and Brownells mag which were made by metalform and with some minor tweaking it runs near 100 %

when I bought mine they didn’t have a stripped lower in stock so I got one with their lower parts kit installed and promptly removed most of the parts replaced them.  Nothing was wrong with them, I  just preferred different stuff

With the QC 10 Colt lower, can you run the mags as a monopod and still get ultra reliability?  I have a bunch of high quality metalform Colt mags.

  10. I have a 40 cal pcc I pieced together with QC10 components.  I used a Glock large frame lower and 10mm mags.  It runs flawlessly and the Lrbo works great with SGM mags not Glock OEM mags.  Works 100 percent with all bullet types including HP.

I want to build a 9mm with Colt style mags.  If I use QC10 components is it likely to be ultra reliable like my 40 build?  Or should I try a different magazine platform?

Alliant Sport Pistol, Vihtavuori N320, and Clean Shot should be on the short list as well.   WSF and Silhouette are a little slow for minor but would work.

In another thread it says Clean Shot and Accurate no 2 are the same powder.  Is this correct?

  12. I'm looking for powder suggestions for 9mm.  I run bear creek coated 135s(actually weigh 140gr).  My wish list for the powder is, low smoke with the coated bullets, accurate, clean, low recoil(reasonably fast powder), and I would like to be able to make at least 130 pf from a 4.7 inch barrel.

I have been using CSB1, but can't get it anymore.

I am considering Ramshot competition, American select, Accurate no 2, WST, WSF. Silhouette.

What does everyone like for a heavier coated bullets?

Well I'm almost out of ramshot comp so I'll be changing here soon. How clean is clean shot? And how well does it meter through a dillon powder funnel? How much smoke?

I was thinking about trying Ramshot competition with a coated 140 gr bullet for minor.  Why are you getting away from it?
