Is there a 40 cal replacement barrel that would give accuracy comparable to the Apex 9mm semi drop in barrel?
-
Thanks guys. I will try the sig barrel. Hopefully it shoots the 135s decent down around 125 pf.

I've had Legion accuracy issues, not so with the full size. I will probably end up getting rid of my Legion and going strictly FS (if I stay with Sig).
Bar-Sto seems to be the gold standard and someone reported on another thread that they offer much better chamber support. I haven't seen to many other reports on other barrels. I wish there were. Doing a search a couple of weeks ago, it seems to be very hard to find any in stock. Many places have the 3.6 and 3.9 inch barrels but not the 4.7. As far as what I found in stock, it seemed that it was Bar-Sto, Faxon and The Glock Store. Someone stated in another thread that Zev barrels were just milled Sig barrels. Not sure if any of this helps but its the only input I have right now.
With the full size would I likely get acceptable accuracy with a drop in Sig factory barrel? With 135 coated down around minor pf.

I was reading up on all the Legion accuracy issues. I need a barrel for a standard 4.7 slide. I was just going to pick up a stock sig barrel for about $140, but I am wondering if I need something else to get good accuracy. I will be shooting bear creek coated 135s with csb1. I have tons of both.
Any suggestions on which barrel?

Does this new Keres trigger weaken the strikers ability to set off primers at all? I want to continue to shoot small rifle primers.

I am hoping it is reliable with hollow points and will shoot with the weapon resting on the mag like my scorpion, but with ar ergonomics and trigger options.
-
How does the ARV do with feeding hollow points?
Also does it feed while using the mag as a monopod? My ar9 with colt mags will not.

I'm thinking about buying one of these 13.5 barrels. I'm wondering if the gas port is large and I should definitely buy an adjustable gas block for it?
If I am planning to run a standard bolt carrier and standard carbine buffer can I use a non adjustable gas block?

I got it used, so I'm not sure how old it is. I will call Apex tomorrow.
Thanks.

I have a M&P 1.0. I have installed a Apex flat trigger, Apex threaded barrel, and PMM comp.
I am getting a dead trigger about once out of a hundred rounds. Live round feeds, but no click or bang on trigger pull. I can slightly pull the slide back to reset the trigger and fire the chambered round.
Any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix?

Thank you all.

Hi TK4,
What all the others said but I do have 1 additional question.
Are you shooting a compressed load with 68's? That can also add to what you are seeing.
(I managed to split 2 Redding Competiton seating stems over the years loading compressed charges using 69-77 grain bullets. )
Kind rgds,
I am running 23.4gr of 2230.
Is it possible it is compressed?
-
Mine are somewhere in between.
I didn't have a glue gun, so I tried the bullet with lapping compound suggested by milanuk. Got the mark closer to the 1st picture. I'll have to shoot some comparison groups. The 68gr wouldn't shoot as well as my Hornady 55gr fmjs that don't get a mark from loading. We will see if the are closer now.
Thanks for all the help guys.

I was watching a training vidoe on this that said the Dillon die isn't made for bullets with thin jackets designed for expansion because the edge while seating is too sharp.
Do you think the deformation of the jacket will not cause accuracy issues? I've never seen a factory bullet with this seating ring.
-
I have a Dillon 650, but don't have a lot of rifle reloading knowledge. I am loading a Hornady 68gr bthp bullet and the Dillon seater die is leaving a ring around the bullet jacket where the bullet is depressed. I am learning that I need a different seating die for this type of bullet?
Any suggestions on what I can get that will do the job at a reasonable price, and where to get it?
Thank you.

They lock up slightly different. The older X5 slide has more pre tension.
Would one allow a lighter recoil spring vs the other?

I'm looking at getting one of the oem complete uppers. Is there any difference between the x5 upper and the Legion upper other than color?

When using 17rnd full size mags in a 2.0C, is it possible to overseat and damage the ejector?

So, the non camptive spring on the DPM. What other common springs would be compatible diameter wise. Or what would be compatible to change out the stock subcompact spring.
I will probably get the stock sig subcompact guide rod, and try to remove the front spring and replace it with something lighter.
Would a cut 1911 spring work???
-
If used for uspsa it would be at local matches, just shooting for hoa, who cares what division.
Could possible be used as a duty gun in the future, but not likely.
I use a pretty fast powder. I don't shoot too many matches anymore, but when I do it is usually a steel only no pf match.
Maybe I will try to modify a stock guide rod assembly.
Any suggestions on different springs/spring weights to try for the subcompact setup???
I run a 9lb in my 9mm 2011.
-
Interesting.
I'm debating if I should sell the subcompact Norsso slide I got and take a loss to get a compact slide.

No, you really need the double captive spring for the SC length slides for progressive compression. A single 1911-style guide rod and spring would not work well with the subcompact. I was up in NH in January at PMM and had this exact discussion with Jarod. They use the regular OEM/stock subcompact spring with all their Ultra 2-port comps mated to subcompact length slides.
What about the compact slide? Would it work ok with a one piece guide rod and 1911 spring?
Would you expect the recoil control of the compact length to be superior to the subcompact?
-
I have cut down 1911 guide rods and springs to work with 4.25 and 4.5 1911 barrels and slides.
I have a ton of 1911 springs to play with. Is there a mechanical reason with the p320 subcompact that it won't work with the 1911 style p320 guide rod???
40 cal barrel
in S&W (M&P, etc)

Anybody using a M&P 40 in Limited, and using a barrel other than factory they are happy with?
