  1. Most Americans, as well as firearms "enthusiasts" buy the cheap stuff instead of buying quality. The $ encourages people in this industry to copy and knock stuff off at an alarming rate, then some guy or gal gets on YouTube and says how great it is and whamo, it sells. Cheap crap usually has higher profit margins as well. While I will not go into details, I was very disappointed in Remington's implementation of the design input I gave them on the VersaMax competition, as was the design engineer I worked with. On one part, it was literally pennies that kept the part from being made right...bean counters rule the roost I guess. In my experience, it does appear that price and marketing have a bigger influence than sound engineering, design, production and quality when it comes to the vast majority of consumer products, including firearms.

I so wish that this was just b.s. Don't think it is though. Not at all.

  2. 1 heavy division. 308 with optic (or not) and 20 round limit, 12 gauge pump and 10 round 45.

Shooters still have to deal with recoil and limited mag capacity, while following the majorities migration to optics.

    This works for me!

Me tambien! I just like the idea of the ability to use a pump gun being measured as a skill in some division. This just sounds like a hoot with the .308, and the .45. Need to buy another M1A and a 1911! Woohoo!!!

  3. I used to shoot a TS in .40. It was purchased with three extra slide stops from the previous owner. I ran quite a bit of ammo through that before I sold it. Ran my ammo to just over pf. Never had to replace the slide stop, but was happy to have them jic.

  4. Wish that I lived in AZ. I've wanted to see and shoot one of these for a couple years now. I almost bought a k100 from J&G but then they stopped carrying them. Probably good timing :)

I know a bunch of shooters who moved to Arizona just because the shooting sports were that important in their life. Usually they came from the communist foreign country to the West of us.

Some of us went through AZ to get to NM. Now there is a state! Shooting, Fishing, Hunting, Red, Green, Christmas!!! LOL :roflol:

  5. Bluegrass and plateracks. Fun stuff. As a matter of fact, Bluegrass, Punk Rock, Speed Metal,Django Reinhardt, anything fast is good by me when exercising or practicing shooting, trail riding on, my mtb.

  6. Jimbone7@msn.com would love some larger photos. Thinking next year will be my return to Limited. I will probably be shooting a TS as I used to own one and it was a great gun.

    BTW who did the work?

  7. Loose lockup? Can you move the tip of the barrel with your thumb inside the slide when it is locked up? If I had a nickel for all the posts about Glocks shooting to the left, I'd have serious lunch money. A lighter trigger will help, as will hundreds of pulls on that trigger with your eyes loking down the sights to ensure proper technique is being ingrained. Slide to frame fit isn't an accuracy issue really. Barrel to slide is your accuracy, and repeatable consistent lock up is important.

I shoot Glocks and was having trouble with my first shooting left. Found out after tons of dry fire that it was ME shooting left.

  8. My child's no less.

Lizard who has no lamp 'cause my daughter broke it recently. Left her outside, set the timer, got to painting, and didn't hear the timer go off.

She had nursed her back to health after a bad fall in February. Lizard was looking better than ever and really gaining a personality. Daughter left for vacation last Saturday. Breaks my heart to have to break hers. She is a lover of all things and this is gonna be tough.

I just feel terrible. Just awful. :(

  9. Took the wife who is newly confident in herself with all the TKD and dieting and new physique, to the range. She was not too thrilled with the pistols I am currently running. But my master class shooting buddy had an XD in 9mm and from the get-go she was just blasting them suckers. (8" plates at 15 yds)

So the question is, would you get one for your wife considering all you know about the platform. (I know nothing about them except that I found this pistol very easy to shoot well myself)

I already have a holster so essentially I just need a belt, pouches, and a pistol with mags.

    JZ

  10. The brown rice diet/fast was great in that it gave you carbs, and B vitamins also, but nothing else. Yeah, you can get kind of a mental clarity/high that way definitely.

BTW Brian, I love the tag line. Just love that song!

  11. Well, I went out and shot this thing today, and I must say that with a little time and some alleve, my wrist is fine, and my SG is running awesome, as I learn to do proper load two. I don't know whick one I like better the Supernova or my 712. They are both just awesome to shoot. I am the only inhibitor of excellence at this point. We shall see, but I think I will wait to install the PG until I get too hurt to shoot that way and just switch then.

  12. Well I was looking at this thread and I am laughing at how much exercise I did to lose weight then, when I was almost 40. Now at 45 I am 195 to 200 almost all the time and a 34-36 waist as opposed to a 36-38. What did I do? well, I changed my diet, and my job. I am a grip now in the film industry. I am fed at work generally, and I eat two mostly paleo (except for rice) meals. No bread anymore save homemade burgers. I drink water, very little milk, and coconut water and no sweetened drinks whatsoever besides an occasional hot chocolate from Starbucks on Saturday or Sunday nights when I want to stay up. Craft service is pretty good. When I want a snack I eat fruit, nuts, yogurt (half serving) and I drink a fair amount of water after every meal and avoid eating four hours before bedtime. My arms and legs are in good shape now from work. I lift 35lb sandbags all day long ( two at a time ), and carry gear around movie sets too. Pushing heavy carts of gear through dirt is not unusual and they weigh upwards of 300 to 500 lbs. Take them up grades, down grades, through malls, dirts lots, desert wasteland, everywhere! I carry and set up c-stands, and combo and mambo combo stands which are not light for the most part, and working with your hands is a regular all day thing. You sit and wait, then you go balls out, then you sit and wait, then you go balls out, but smooth, and not erratic.

I mountain bike on weekends regularly, and use a bike to shop in Albuquerque for the most part utilizing the arroyo bike paths and staying to designated cycling streets.

Breakfast used to be eggs over-easy and sausage, with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. Now its steel cut oats and fruit with an egg white from a boiled egg or two for breakfast. I have more energy. I regularly work 14 to 16 hours and do so without caffeine at all because I have A-fib. When I want energy, I eat fruit and drink water. I live with and work with some food nazis too. They question everything they put into their mouths save alcohol for the most part. When I go out to eat, I desire lean, fresh things that are made from things I can grow or catch, and I eat quite a bit of game meat now from hunter friends. The stuff is very lean and just gorgeous.

So yeah, I changed my job and was able to use that to change my diet and both things kind of changed my body too. Do I ever eat junk anymore? Yeah sometimes, but I enjoy it less and less as my palate gets used to fresh uncooked foods and less fats and sugars/salts. You start to smell the junk in processed foods that makes you pause and kind of snub your nose 'cause you're not hungry for that type of food anymore. The only things I desire sometimes to pig out on are pastries/cake/ice cream. So if you have a kid between the ages of 3 and 18 who lives at home and has a birthday this year ( In ABQ) then please send me a message so I have an excuse to indulge. Promise I will bring an age appropriate gift too! Lol!
