I know of range near Sparta, IL... some place called World Recreation and Shooting Complex...something like that...
Yeah, I think regular LPRO/L-10 Nat's were held at PASA at least once...probably a couple of times actually.
Sparta does not have enough props or staff or bays to hold a nationals

thanks to the ro's and staff
ray comes up with the best stages between this match and area 5 nationals would better served in PASA then vegas

I did also notice that some stages changed partway through the match. Stage 19 had some No Shoot targets added. Stage 21 never really seemed to work consistently. (more on that in a bit) Stage 28 had the length of some ropes you needed to pull change during the match. It actually affected the way people shot the stage. Some guys hooked the ropes onto a door knob, but later competitors weren't able to.
Stage 21 is a stage that had a sliding thing with 3 targets on it. I heard from Robbie that just before he got up to shoot the stage, the RO's did something to the slider to "fix" it. When he shot, it appeared much faster than for other people. He had to shoot the moving targets really fast, and dropped a bunch of points as a result. He argued for and got a reshoot because the prop didn't work the same for him.
I got up to shoot that stage the day after I heard about it from Rob. Matt Mink shot the stage just before me, and the sliding target didn't work at all for him. He got stopped and was moved down the stack to do a reshoot. The RO went up and "fixed" the slider. I got up to shoot and shot the same target sequence as everyone else in my squad had. People would activate the slider, then move, then shoot some targets, then wait, then the slider would come out. When I shot, I swung to the slider to find that it was already half way down. I had to shoot crazy on it, and dropped a ton of points. I asked for a reshoot, and then was told I had to talk to the range master. A half hour later, he hadn't shown up.. I gave up, signed my score sheet and moved on to the next stage. Irritating! That is the second stage shown on my video, if you are curious about it.
One other thing I took issue with was the behavior of many of the other competitors. Things sure are different than in the US! I saw MANY targets getting pulled so guys could try and get a double. I even saw 25 yard swingers with one D hit get pulled. It was nuts! At the US Nationals you would get kicked in the balls for pulling stuff like that.
Eric G even biffed up one stage, then arbed the stage and actually got it tossed. (The stage had not been run consistently). In the US, that would be considered a pretty lame thing to do, but in IPSC it was cool I guess. It was just a bizarre set of ethics over there.
Overall, I am glad I went. I really learned what I need to start training for. I am going to come into next year a lot stronger, no doubt about that! Frustrations at the World Shoot aside, the stages were cool and the props were awesome. I am looking forward to the next one!
so foreign competitors don't have any class and ipsc leaders favor certain competitors

uspsa explained they would use the august update on every entry form before anybody sent any money in why are you so upset about this
Please understand that there were a great many members of USPSA who didn't attend the Nationals event, and as such didn't get a written notification that the updates would be suspended until after the Nationals event.
Would any update that they would have received affect the outcome of the National Championship? No.
But it could have a mighty impact on local matches and bragging rights, which are no less important.
that is true but he is talking about the nationals and awards for it

How far in advance did USPSA advise members the Aug classification would be the one used for the match? I know it was several months. Was it prior to applications being taken? If so, no one who attended the match has any reason to complain. If a competitor failed to notice that detail, it isn't USPSA's fault. The 2011 Nationals were held despite not running the September 15th classification report. How many shooters shot the Nationals with an incorrect classification? This never should have happened. The pinnacle event of USPSA shooting didn't follow it's own rulebook.
It happened and nothing can change it now. I'd like to know what's going to prevent the same thing from happening in the future? Professionalism is, in part, is admitting mistakes and taking the right steps to insure that they will not occur again.
It was not within the USPSA admin staff's power to ignore the rulebook. Prior notice is not sufficient, you can't line-item out pages of the rulebook because it's inconvenient. Ask the second place finishers of each division/classification if they mind going home with a $100 gift certificate instead of the pistol they would've won when the first place finisher had been correctly classified.
I have never run an operation as big as Nationals...have you? If you have, perhaps you can assist USPSA in reducing the timeline needed between the classification run and getting everything ready for registration. Logistically, I think getting things printed up within 2 weeks with the latest classification and dealing with oter classification issues in that short of a period of time is likely problematic, hence using the classification from August.
I already have a job. It's hard and I'm good at it. My boss doesn't accept excuses.

training camp was incredible and training with the best is not bad either
i can say i learned more in those two days of shooting then the last years worth of major and local matches combined
this is just going to propel my shooting to another level and the practice after this will be adding to it
p.s. the amount of chaos in bens life is unbelievable and how he copes with it
