  1. I am totally in no hurry to blow my gun up in my face.... so thats why i freaked out and was like what the hell..... as soon as i got home i put it up ... then i got to work cleaning my stuff... I have just started so im content staying on the low end of the tables ... I do like the tip about buying a smaller die ... I know were i can get a ton of .40 and .45 brass for free but they have all been through Glock's so i was scared ...
  2. Ok this should fit in a dillon head ? also if it needs that much of a resize i should be trimming these every time then as well .... correct?
  3. im still a little fuzzy on the whole resizing thing, but if i put them thru the dillon dies i should be good correct?
  4. I was down at the range about 20 min ago and I was telling one of the guys how I just bought a press and what not. He told me that no .40 can be reloaded safely because of the combo of high operation pressures and the large feed ramps on .40's. Is this true ???? ... I have seen on here were rounds put through a Glock can not be reloaded .... SO what about Beretta 96's thats mostly what I shoot... Also i do have one of those Springfield XD 40 ... a little help.....
  5. after doing some reading and looking around on the net i think im going to get a Leupold VX-III 4.5x14x40 unless someone tells me this is a huge mistake for some reason ...
  6. I have to say IM a huge fan of the banded style of Howard Leight's http://www.hearingportal.com/products/products2.asp?id=15 They are great because you can just flip them out and they will stay right on your neck, they dont have huge cups to get in the way. They can get old if you have them in all day ... but nothing is worse than those huge cups sitting on your ears all day. I have never really used them inside.
  7. I have alot of 5.11 gear ... I would say everything I have has held up well and i think is top of the line as far a quality and design
  8. I just bought a Remington 700 VS in .308 this is my first "long range" target gun, until now I have mostly shot pistols and AR's. I have never really bought any optics before. From looking around and reading I think I want either a Bushnell or Leupold. I was thinking a 4x12 , with easy adjustments. Money is not an issue; however I'm not inclined to spend a lot more on a scope than I paid for the gun. A little help here thanks
  9. ok i was mainly talking about .223 that is the main reason that im reloading
  10. If i have the correct i need to resize the case everytime i reload it ... (the whole case if i might shoot it in different guns) however i see a trimmer attachement for sale. so im not sure whats what now.

  12. no im in Greenfield, IN but thanks for the offer well i have spent some time thinking about which press to get and as i said above i like the extra station... I sure i can handle a 1050 i am a biochemist so highly technical process do not scare me. That being said im sure my first few rounds might be ugly the main problem i have is that i cant find anybody that i know who can help to guide me in this process ok so i add a chronograph and repair kit ya im thinking that im going to hit sears for like some of that plastic boxes and shelfs and stuff
  13. so if i hear you correctly no big deal ... and if i am worried about it i could just hit them with an ultrasonic ... filled with a liquid cleaner every 3-4 reload??????
  14. well i have spent some time thinking about which press to get and as i said above i like the extra station... 15. ok so if i did want to clean out the primer area what would be the best way to get that done??? I have read that the liquids do a really good job
  16. Im new to this whole game and i can not find anyone that i know who does reload. I want to reload .40 .45apc .223 7.62x39 and .308 30-06 for now. I think that i will be doing alot of reloading for family/friends. I thought i read that i could buy some kind of extra part, and this part would allow me to leave the die and etc. unchaged like the head plate maybe ??? Assume i have no tools and little exposure, what do i need? Money isnt a huge issue ... but i dont wanna go crazy. I think this is what i need/should get so far. Reloading Manuals: I have been told the Speer, Nosler and Lyman Scale Caliper Bullet Puller Case Cleaners Media Separator 1050 Case Feeder & Plates Caliber Converters and Dies for each Caliber primer converter KISS extra Tool Heads, Powder Measure ???????
  17. ok what do you do about cleaning out the primer area??? also should one use dry cleaning or liquid or both. i guess im asking is can any advantage be gained by using one the other or both???
  18. I am new to reloading and i cant find anybody that I know that has reloaded in 10 years OK when should I remove the old primer ??? and why ???
