Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Leave ends for me tomorrow, going back to the east coast to find where I can shoot one. Sunday 7/24/11, Easton PA. hammer down at 11am Easton Fish and Game is running the classifier as part of our July match. You can get info on the EFandG web site or or nepaidpascores.net Sorry mods for the match announcement but every one wants to know how this story turns out. BTW I'm not sure where you shot that referenced match but they have some COF rules violations, %25 steel max in a stage %10 max in a match. Also a lot of nubes that do great there first couple of matches are runnin pretty fast and loose with the rules, usually cover. I'm not sure how tight they are calling PEs.
  2. I shot an ESP classifier two weeks before a major and shot 108.21, I was registered for the match as ESP SS, got my ass handed to me, as was said shoot a major as SS.
  3. This forum requires excessive moderation due to continuous real and imagined slights against IDPA. As a result the Moderating Team has discussed deleting the IDPA Forum altogether. So: Please post respectfully or don't post at all. No antagonistic tones will be tolerated. Members who can't post politely or who come here to bash IDPA or IDPA's Rules will receive a 7 day suspension from The Forums upon their first offense. Please read the complete new Rules. Thank you, The Moderating Team
  4. Hello, in my earlier post I said that I am using Comp IIs. That is incorrect I have Comp Is that are for a 629 with the points that hold the cases filed down to fit the 45LC. I find that I get some tumbling bullets with moonclipped 45 ACP in the 45 LC cylinder, I also seem to loose some velocty in the longer cylinder of the Mountian Gun as compaired to an 45 ACP 625.
  5. SSR SS 62.07 CDP EX 58.84 SSP EX 58.30 ESP SS 66.50 Missed two of the hard cover 3 targets and got 2(!) FTN I'm looking for one more for the 5 gun.
  6. A. Be any revolver of 9mm caliber (.355” or larger) or larger bore diameter utilizing rimmed or rimless cartridges, which may safely make a power factor of 165,000. The use of trimmed (shortened) ammunition is not allowed. Ammunition used must match the caliber listed on the gun. The only exceptions would be: .38 special in .357 magnum, 9mm in .38 super, 40S&W in 10mm, 44 special in .44 magnum. This is from the new rule addemdum so as I read it no 45ACP in a gun marked 45LC. I don't think that any one makes moon clips for 45LC. I tried to put 45 auto mag brass in my 45ACP moon clips to fill more of the space in the long cylinder but the tapered area above the rim on the auto mag is thicker than ACP and did not fit. And as I mentioned the comp IIs I use are for a 44mag 629, filed to fit 45 LC. The Mountian Gun makes SSR weight with a couple of ounces to spare.
  7. I have a 45LC 625 Mountain Gun that I occasionally shoot in SSR for fun. I use comp IIs that are for 44mag with a little filing on the points that hold the cases untill they fit the bigger 45 case. I do not have a holder for the loaders and just keep them in my pocket. I also had the cylinder cut for moon clipped 45ACP to shoot ESR, but the new rule addendum has rendered it illegle, the gun does not say "45ACP" on it and is not one of the calibers that is ok to shoot that is not listed on the gun. So much for that idea.
  8. Late on last day is when I have seen things like poppers and such be the most problematic. They are full of dirt and fragments, they have pounded themself loose or into the ground changing the way the were "calabrated" on the first day (300ish shooters ago), they are not freshly painted so you can see low or edge hits. Check it out, dust it with some fresh paint, bust the guy's balls about bunny fart loads, and give him a re-shoot.
  9. IDPA classification has nothing to do with guns (besides how well you shoot them), it's the result of shooting the classifier. If its a question of division, as yoshi said CDP or ESP. I have a Kimber BP 10 that I shoot in both divisions, 45 at 135-140 PF is nice shooting.
  10. Polish? I've seen "Mithbusters" polish a turd, but polish a Glock??
  11. Is there a "record" for best score on an IDPA classifier??
  12. As I stated in post #26 I first brought up the "hands relaxed" thing as a goof not tring to bring Ben down. The flinch was also in the same vein. But then Shawn Knight stated that if you flinch between stand-by and beep and return to hands relaxed it's ok, I pasted the section from the ruld book to show it's not ok, still not tring to shed a bad light on Ben's preformance. Then BK starts in (BK I watched your video, you too, like Ben are much better than me, so there is no reason for me to post a video). Looking at the facts and rules is a by-product of being an SO/MD, so, sorry if that is considered not "playing nice". Ben sorry to drift your thread, again nice shooting.
  13. Oh, I'm sorry if the rules bore you, just shoot any way you want, the SOs will take care of the rest.
  14. C 7. The competitor’s physical position may not be changed before the firing signal once the shooter’s ready position is assumed and the “Stand-By” command has been given, unless specified by the CoF. Now, since he is running himself and no "Stand-By" was given ok, But under "strict" rules flinching between Stand-by and beep is a PE
  15. Ben, Just bustin, That run was smokin, I use a calendar to time my 120s, tho, you did flinch on your start on the advancing string
