Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hello friends, I would like to say that this forum is great because of the shared information (this forum got me started in practical shooting). Well anyway I bought the CED7000 and am very happy with it, it works great. It has helped me with my training alot. I would like to voice one concern and I don't have any experiences with any other timers to compare. Is it just me or is anyone concerned with the durability of the unit, it kinda seems for lack of a better term cheaply made. Now I don't want to ruffle feathers but I was expecting a little more quality (buttons seem kinda flimsy). In saying that I am otherwise very happy with it, it works great and I don't regret my purchase.
  2. Hello friends, just thought I would add what I found with some SWC's in the 200 gr. I shoot a SA operater and mostly use Laser cast 200 SWC with 100% reliability but have the same problem (feeding problems) with with some plated and jacketed 200 SWC such as Ranier, Speer. I compared the bullet profiles and the Laser cast are somewhat fatter at the tip of the bullet as opposed to the Ranier and speer. This has a slight effect on the way the bullet tilts over to feed into the chamber (seems that the forward edge of the case grabs on the chamber). I can mess around with aol, round break over timing (mags),crimp and get them to work but I just avoid the trouble and get the bullet profile that I know that works.
  3. Hello friends, I'd like to add my relationship with one M-Operator (SA). It cost slightly more than a standard loaded model, not sure if that means it had more attention at the factory but this gun is worth what I paid. I started shooting IDPA at the beginning of 2007 and so far I have 12500 rounds through it, and it has been wonderful. The pistol shows no signs of abnormal wear and is still tight as the day I bought it, accuracy is not lacking, and lockup is above what I would expect from a production unit. Now I did go through a selection of pistols of various brands (some being SA's) and picked the best I could find as far as fit. I am a SA fan, but would not hesitate to buy other brands, just buying a SA would not guarantee success but chances are you would be very happy. The one thing I would recommend is that to spend a little more and get the pistol equipped the way you want because its more cost effective. Thanks for your time.
  4. In their 2007 catalog Hornady offers a powder drop case expander sleeve. It would allow moving the Lee die to 4th position and have more room to deal with ejection problems. I at this time use the lee die in the 5th station with it being ground off at the bottom and works great, but I only load for 45ACP at this time.
  5. Sounds to me your so frustrated that you can't think straight. No where is it advertised that the lock-n-load works with lee crimp die in 5th station.Lee crimp die will work with slight modification as stated in earlier post, there is also another option.Hornady also offers powder through case expander for powder drop allowing the ability to move sizer die to 4th station.Hornady and Dillon overall press design for LNL and 650 are somewhat similar so whats the big deal? Just buying a Dillon might not solve all your problems. Seems kinda of useless to have a non-Dillon section when all the posts are "buy Dillon". Why did you buy LNL in the first place when you know just about everyone here says don't think just "buy dillon".I don't mean to harsh your gig but it seems like you can see this coming a mile away.I have a LNL and it works great,450 to 500 rounds per hour with no case feeder and thats not rushing it. If I had a Dillon I would be just as satisfied, they both take some type of learning curve to use.
