  1. Coming from an optical background, hot brass behind glasses is a safety issue. I'd be ripping my glasses off to get that hot bastard away from my eyes. You want to take a chance on burning and scaring your cornea, knock yourself out. Eyes aren't like the rest of the body where a scar really isn't going to affect much. Scar your cornea over your pupil and I'll almost guarantee you'll never see worth a damn out of that eye again.

  2. For sure on the choice of having the thumb rest.

Can you guys explain the 5 holes need? I can tell you it doesn't take 5 screws to hold this sight in place.

Edit.. reading on my phone. Far forward thumb rests like to be that far up there? What if that style of rest was integrated?

IMHO, no thumb rest. Some of us are southpaws. :)

  3. I had a Bedell titanium and to be honest didn't l like it. I never really got it to work the way I thought it should. When I re-barreled that gun I had a Brazos Thunder put on and like it better. My Akai is better, IMO, than the Brazos and the Brazos is much better than the Bedell Ti.

  4. Not dumb at all! I just didn't have 30 bucks to buy a bunch of screws and knobs I didn't need. The bearing is 5 bucks delivered on eBay.

I would like to know what the exact O ring is that is coming with the kit. The thin 1/16th rings are easily available and less than a buck locally but still leave some room for the bearing to move around.

Maybe the factory kit has the same issues or there is something in the directions about it but for less than 6 bucks I'm not gonna complain!

  5. What do you want to know exactly? I have a full size Katana in 9. The gun has 6 small barrel holes, 2 up and 2 on each side in a V formation. I run HS-6 under 115 jhp's and it's flat. The dot barely moves, maybe 1/4 of the way up the glass. I've had several other open shooters say the gun doesn't appear to move at all.

  6. I can't seem to "make myself" do it in a match or in training very well. I'm trying to make it happen subcontiously.

Subconsciously is the trick. I struggle with this myself. Part of my "make ready" routine is to tell myself support hand, support hand, support hand. I'm getting better at it. It doesn't always happen right at the buzzer but I often feel my support hand grip tighter during the stage. Try reminding your subconscious mind. For me it has been a big help.
