Truncated is just a fancy word for flat nose. A wad-cutter is just a bullet shaped like a cylinder, it looks like a coke can. They are usually used in target ammo. They cut clean holes w/little if any radial tears. Makes it easier to score. They are used in revolvers. Semi-wadcutters are the same, except they have a nose which allows semi-auto's to feed them properly. Sometimes the pistol must be modified to feed these properly. As far as names for particular types of bullets go most manufacturers choose the name of their bullet w/out any regard to what another manufacturer calls it. No matter the term you may use most people know what your talking about. HTH, Joe

What I mean is if the match calls for six and a mandatory reload, do you load 7 in the mag or fill it up? Do you always carry the same number of mags? Do you load all of them even though you may not use them? If you use a mag to strip a round to load your gun to capacity does it go back in the carrier? Or do you have a 'special' mag for that and it goes somewhere else? Since I'm shooting L10 I'm leaning toward loading all the mags, 5 of them, using one of them to strip a round and then replacing it in the carrier as the last mag I'll reach for. One more question. Is five enough for most L10 Matches. What is the most you ever seen required? Thoughts? Thanks, Joe

Bad Idea? My hand are small. This is working for me though I don't have a time on it yet. I'm also thinking, I know that is sometimes dangerous, that maintaining the same grip seems more important than the few tenths extra it takes. It should balance itself out. If I have to take the same amount of time re-arranging my grip why not just push the button and reach for the mag. Thoughts? Joe

Most use FMJ's some are using lead. When I'm ROing with a lead shooter the smoke does get kind of thick Right now there are not any regs for indoor ranges here that I know of. The help w/some stages in an indoor range is just one of my many questions. I'm going slow on posting questions for the moment. Thanks, Joe

Just wanted to say hello and Thanks for the Forums. I've lurked for a couple of days and decided to join in. Mostly w/questions. LOL. A group of us that got together for just some 'fun' matches at the local indoor range decided to start following USPSA rules and become at least affiliated. We completed our first series a few weeks ago and just started the winter on Tuesday. Here's our website http://www.louisvillepracticalshooters.com We are shooting mostly CM's because of the size restrictions at the range. Usually one Virgia and a Comstock. I was using a G26 the first series and placed fourth. I decided to switch to a Commander and really get into the game. Didn't really think much about anything but hits the first series, shot to slide-lock and such. With the great info here and from the home page I'm sure improvements will be fast.
