  1. For a list of great shooting links, check Brian's home page and click on the "links" link. There you will find links to all your favorite links, including links to the Shooters Connection, Shooters.com, and many more. Happy linking...
  2. I can't even imagine shooting 1000 rounds in under an hour. What would the point BE? It's good to know that I'm safe with 400 rounds in two hours. Thanks for the input Brian... :-> MD
  3. Thanks for the info Bseevers. Now I now what to expect! Although I've never had to break out the oven mits... I do like the feeling of a warm gun! Lately, I've been running Montana Gold, 180 gr. jacketed bullets with Vit 320. I haven't noticed any residue on the inside of the barrell. I'm not shooting back to back to back Bill Drills, but I am shooting alot in a short amount of time. All in all, I think my barrell's OK with my current routine. Thanks to all for the input.
  4. Thanks for bringing this topic to the forum. Kellyn, "a long time" is a little too relative for me. I've put over 2000 rounds through my Schueman this week alone! Lately my practice sessions consist of about 400 rounds in under two hours. Needless to say that my barrell is smokin' when I'm done. My question is "how bad is this type of practice for the barrell? Rest of the gun? Is there an accelerated rate of wear under these conditions?" Thanks, Mr. Davis
  5. Joe, Thanks for the input. You couldn't have been more helpful. Now I realize that I have been shooting semi-wadcutters. I was having some feeding problems which included the "nose" of the bullets jamming into the bottom of the barrell... so I took it to our local gunsmith and he did some grinding on it. He made the slope slightly more angled which helped with the feeding problem. Are their any other modifications one make to their pistol to improve performance when shooting the semi-wad cutter? Thanks MD. PS. Just to make sure, semi-wadcutters are wadcutters with the top 1/3 of the bullet angled in, right? 6. I've been trying to find the perfect bullet to reload for my .40. Today I realized that I don't know what the words trunkated (sp?) and semi-wad cutter mean? Also, what are the correct terms when describing bullets. For instance, is it ball or round nosed; flat-point or flat nosed? A little clarification please.
