ROs could get around the rule to favor shooter/s. Personally witnessed years ago an RO stopped a shooter-friend for a suspect squib middle of a stage run. Apparently the shooter had forgotten a target and run back to engage it early in the stage. Of course there was no squib so the shooter was given a reshoot and saved the stage. It was a lev 3 local match.

Think Ben has the right to speak up his side. First it appeared he was dragged into the issue unfairly, and made to look bad. He had to be heard of his side of his truth. Everyone deserves that. Second its his podcast.
Having said this I still prefer his shooting ideas over uspsa politics. Im ipsc by the way. -
Back in the days i was w/ micros, whenever i go to a range for practice or match, due to past experiences, it never ceases me worrying it would bog down . It was always at the back of my mind every time Im LAMARed. Went back to Cmore slideride and serendipity and boom! am a happy camper til now

I watched this waiting for something about shooting... This is an hour of Ben grinding an axe and three other guys sitting there mostly quiet and looking VERY uncomfortable. I think Ben is a great shooter and I'd like to take a class from him but the politics of USPSA? I could care less.... Hopefully the podcast gets back to shooting.

Hello: I have shot whole matches with the front of the red dot covered. It really helps with your target focus and using both eyes effectively. I also find it helps new red dot shooters with not following the dot to the next target. The boucing ball syndrome I call it. It helps them to transition to the next target faster and actually pick up the dot quicker. Your eyes and brain will take a little while to figure it out if you are used to one eyed shooting but when you do it opens up a whole better way of shooting. Thanks, Eric
Yup. But it never help those uninformed ROs staring in awe wondering how you hit those targets w/ that lols or repeating command several times to be sure “you are ready”

Poly std switch primarily due to cost

I prefer to draw before move/step/run/whatever so its always unlocked after lamar. If you prefer to keep it locked get the jrholster w/ autolock/unlock function.
eta. Either way you need to learn and practice the correct safe way of holstering.

With my corrective lens my dot looks like a brush of of paint veryically applied, like a thick comet going upwards where the comet head is POI
without lens my dot looks like a bunch of grapes. I can shoot in both conditions but I opt w/ the lens so i could read the scoresheets before signing them. Accuracy is same in both. Hits and misses depends mostly in my trigger pulls

noticed the dot is dimly on when the switch is on zero.
Common after yrs of hard use. So far I Found no self-fix except maybe send back to CMore but in my side of the pond thats not possible. But its much better than today’s micros in terms of reliability/longevity to cost ratio. So Im still w/ serendipity/slideride in my Open guns. Hard to sell to dinosours i think.

Thanks everyone for the inputs. Seems Ti needs just a bit more work and detailing for its weight advantage over the heavier steel. Also Im in belief that lighter weight at the muzzle also helps in the reliability of an Open pistol. I had 2 old comped guns w/ long heavy steel comps that would not be reliable no matter what, I cut them comps a bit short to lighten and they ran 100% since.

Ti comps shoot loose more often than steel comps. They will definitely shoot loose in a Monster match.
This is another concern of mine. Ti being different material from the steel barrel will have different thermal expansion to mated steel and will contribute to breaking down thread lockers and loosen easily though set screws could help to a certain extent.

Can you elaborate on this?

.369” got it Thank you

Im about to use a Binary ti 3port comp. Sometime somewhere here I read bore dia of ti comps should be a bit in the .40” side for .38/9 open guns, mainly due to ti comps flex a lot more than steel otherwise bullet strikes be a problem. But a video in Binary engg sub forum showed he used an egw .38/9 .369” dia. alignment reamer to finish his comp bore.
Now which dia. should I use? How reliable is that .40” dia. info? -
Id check the reddot first. Remove the reddot and benchshoot the gun w/ iron sights and see if it groups. Also try it w/ different loads.
-
Agree on that. I have my 3 sons under my instructions now and i think im seeing some of my techniques in different lights that i tend to improve on them in subtle ways. Even my dry fires changed for the better.

Some limitations: Shooting behind barricades and thru window/port with grills. Even if both eyes open wont see targets, only see the tape. At least for me.

Most guns will run both with one well tuned extractor, its getting them out of the mags that can cause issues.
Have not had any issue w/ all my 10 sti mags for super in my 2 open guns. Didnt know there are mags specific for each caliber.
-
Also I deaden and polish the corner at the bottom of the extractor to help the rim slide more easily in.
-
Since an aftec for scomp/9 is a bit tight for super, i test by removing one of the springs, rear or front, or grind a coil to shorten/loosen pressure on one spring. If it doesnt work I bend the extractor stem a bit outwards but a bit short of as super’s. Or a combination of any of these. Usually just one of these works. It also depends on the slide extractor tunnel.

-
I use aftec scomp/9 and tune it for super by adjusting the spring/s. Runs on both.

I tried it on my CED and I didn't like it. I ended up using a program on the play store called Dry Practice Drill. It's easier to use multiple par times whereas the CED is not.
I havent tried that app but i find the ced easy to use like tweaking par times to deduct reaction times or add time due to additional movements or such.
i looked it up and might try it. One concern is, it will be in the cell phone or tablet?, maybe not so handy to put in the pocket or attach to the body and do some aggressive movements? -
Tried this feature in the past few dry fire training days and think it has its value. Combined a few individual drills into one short or medium df cofs/drill and combined MY par times of those drills w/ some minor adjustments to arrive at the end time. Each par times will beep at every end of a segment and up to the end of the cof. It has the sensation of pressure to hussle in every sagment of the cof run in order to meet those multi par times every time up to the last target of the last array.
Has anybody tried it? Or am I wrong in using this timer feature? -
Thank you. Seems Im not very proficient in search how-tos.
So, its gonna work but not PD legal.
Got everything I looked for and a lot more.
CED7000 Timer Multi Par Times

I stopped doing this for awhile. I found myself waiting for the timer beep after each array or movement. Now I just time the whole cof from start to finish. But i think i retained the feeling of hustling in every array position up to the last target.
