  1. I shoot 148 HBWC in 38 spl. 185 in 45-don't shoot 9's
  2. It would be a good idea to take your 10mm to a range and test it on at least a 50yd target from a rest to see what you have now. I have 3 Tango's all bull barrels, and they compete nicely with my Les Baer 45, which cost more than 2x the Tango.
  3. flat triggers offer a better SA performance in that the fingertip pressure is more widely distributed over the trigger surface than serrated triggers you will like it.
  4. Being a bullseye only shooter, I am fond of tube optics, which align back to point of aim faster than reflex dots, IMHO. Has anybody put a rail on a LF Tanfoglio? If so, which rail? Appreciate any help here.
  5. I had "burst fire" aka doubling, when the hammer/sear setup was incorrect after a rebuild. With a new gun that is unlikely
  6. I have Nil Griffe wood grips on my 1911. They are fantastic, really fill your hand and become part of your arm while shooting. Grip is never in question. Unfortunately , they don't make grips for Tanfoglio. I am not a big fan of Lok's brass grips, and would expect somebody offers a palm swell grip for Tans. I don't have really big hands, but I do have long fingers, and the bigger grips work well for me. The Nil Griffe's are $300 or so, which is in my price range. They do make them for CZ, but not for TZ.
  7. got a plate from EGW and it fits well. Gun is ready to go.
  8. Thanks I am curious about the two dovetails, will just do what I usually do and drive them out. I use a brass punch which has worked well.
  9. I have a new pistol which has the sights mounted on two dovetails? I am curious about getting those out without messing up the slide I would then put a plate on it for a red dot. Any ideas?
  10. I have 2 Stock Master's in 45, One Limited Stock Master in 45. the Stock Master mags won't load in the Limited because the base sticks out about 3/8" too far to clear the mag well. You can buy the mags for the Stock Master for $38, for the Limited for $78 or $68, depending on where you buy. Or, you can buy the base that fits the limited mag for $18, add it to the $38, and you have a $56.00 limited mag. Am I missing something here? I haven't done this, thinking maybe the bases are very difficult to change, or some other pitfall that is not obvious.
  11. found out the prob. The rubber (plastic?) base on the Stock Master mags stick out in front and thus the Limited's mag well won't let that part go into the mag well far enough to seat the mag. The limited's mags have a much larger foot, but it does not stick out in front at all-they work fine in the Stock Master, but the Stock Master's won't in the limited. I cut about 3/8" off the front of one mag and that did it. The mags are identical metal, just different feet and that was the issue. Now to decide whether to butcher a bunch of mags or buy new feet.
  12. Thanks, all I have is large frame, no small frame in the house.
  13. I am way too old to do any action type shooting, and am possessor of really bad back that requires I sit most of the time while shooting. That said, I am the owner of 2 Les Baer 45's, 2 Tanfoglio Stock Masters, one of which had the full monty at PD, a CZ 97 with the full monty at Cajun Gun works, plus the newest addition, a Tanfoglio Limited Stock master which arrived today. All my guns are 45. I almost never shoot 9mm. Seeing that this forum is not a Bullseye forum, I can get that kind of info at the Bullseye forum, duh- but nobody shoots Tanfoglio at serious bullseye matches, near as I can find out. I have some questions about Tanf 45's. Why doesn't the mag on the Limited take the same mag as the Stock Master? Is there an adjustment? What modifications are needed to the Limited to make it a smooth operator? My handholds are in the 700 to 775fps range with 185 or 200gr bullets, for a softer recoil. I tried a few of them in the Limited today, hoping I had enough recoil springs to get reasonable ejections-what is the groups opinions on compound springs vs the simpler version? All my shooting is at an indoor range, 20 yds max, and only bullseye. Hope I found a good place for Tanf. shooters, they are my favorite.
