Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I purchased and received the above JM holster a few weeks ago. My daughter adopted it as she already adopted my MP9. She used it in a match the next day. She has been training with it for a month now and is working as designed. It is performing well, and we are both very happy with the product and the company. We will buy from them again.

    IC’s training

Been traveling without access to range or gear, but bought a laser training system before I left. Worked through playing around with it stage and have settled into some drills.

Interested in hearing about you experience with this firearm. I’m enjoying my 92X Defensive, and am considering getting another pistol within the 92 platform.
  4. I believe the original question was about the LASR software system not the red dot producing hardware or the application of this technology to competition training. I used the LASR software previously and liked it. It was reasonably easy to set up both on my laptop with a cheap web cam and on my phone. I used it with a SIRT pistol and a SIRT AR bolt. Sometime it would not register a shot and sometimes it would record dozens of shots that were not actually fired due to a shifting light or other technical glitch. But these issues were easy to correct and once you are up and running it worked well. Generally dim lit room works best. I used it in my basement and while in hotels. as to the concern about “chasing the dot” I did notice with the camera and software tracking my shots I was able to stay focused on my sight and pushing my eyes to my next target. My background is defensive shooting. I am new to competition shooting and not qualified to comment on its utility for that arena. However my daughter has been using my SIRT in conjunction with regular rangework and it has help her tremendously. In her small apartment there is ni “safe” direction to dry fire a real gun. The SIRT makes practice safe and effective. She won her division in her very first match at local club, and placed high in her second. I stopped using the software while overseas with out the hardware, but will probably be adding it back to my training, unless I go with an IR laser. To my knowledge the LASR system and most other systems do not work with IR lasers, you need target designed specifically for the IR. hope this helps.

Tendinitis still keeping me from draws. Able to do some training with .22 and Beretta 92XPD
  7. I have been looking for a holster for a 5” M&P CORE with tlr1 as well. I’m ordering this one: https://www.jmcustomkydex.com/p/Q-RC-Light-Bearing_Holster.html it is compatible with many company’s belt attachments so I can use existing Safariland system. You can order it with or without attachments. It had positive recommendations from users on S&W forums.

Shot a rimfire challage last weekend. Good match we both competed well without any safety issues or procedural problems. Need to add extended base pads to the magazines.
  9. I recently had the font fiber optic tube in my front sight replaced on my 92X Defensive. A gunsmith was able to take care of it while I waited. They said the correct size is the 1.5mm/ .06 inch tube.
  10. I picked up a 92XPD with the goal of try competition shooting. I am currently experimenting with different grip techniques and grip panels. I have some Lok wrap around grips, and I’ll cover those in a separate post. I wanted to try the standard vertex frame but needed more texture. They did not have precut panels for 92’s with frame mounted safeties so I started with standard 92 grip tape and cut to fit. They came out well and feel great.
