I assume you're taking to me? They all have safeties, but some are manual thumb safeties, some have grip safeties, and some have trigger safeties. Some have a combination thereof.

All my current pistols are SA. Some have a grip safety, some do not. Some have thumb safety, some do not.

Something worth mentioning.... I called Masterpiece direct. If you have or are going to purchase a new or used Ds9, anything with serial #599 or less is the 'old' version. Anything serial #600+ is the new version since Dave took over. If you call MPA, they will give you a free upgrade to your older pistol. Upgrade includes a complete new ignition system, trigger/safety, barrel, etc. Keith said it was basically a new gun. The upgrade takes 2-3 weeks.

I've been here for 20 years as a 'guest'. Don't let my registration date fool you. With that said, the guy asked a valid question. If I/others can help answer his question, what does it hurt to extend your knowledge? Rather you just dismissed him. That's not what the forum is supposed to be about. You do you, I'll do me.

For me specifically... SA is fine for home defense. I actually don't mind that for carrying either, however, a traditional 1911 utilizes a grip safety which the DWX does not have, plus the thumb safety which the DWX does have. Some like the grip safety while many do not. There are obviously a ton of other pistols on the market that have one or the other or both. The DA/SA pistols are good for carrying. Pick your poison.
