  1. I would go with the FN SLP mk1 before I would go to the remington, I think it will be a more reliable gun in the long run, and you can still do all those other things like hunting, you'll just have to have a longer plug to keep you legal And at the price payne got his at puts it under the rem1100 anyway ETA: Payne, I've got one of the nordic +1's and its worked great with the factory spring
  2. NOPE! I don't like those little add on pieces like that. Just go ahead and get a magpul MIAD full kit, then you can get it sized to your hand Polytech
  3. Thanks for the info fellas, I'm just kinda exploring my options to make my rifle (and me) faster. I kinda think I'm not good enough to justify those additional expenses yet. If it should be approached as a system I'll probably just keep plugging along with the stock stuff until I can get it in one shot, I need a nice jp trigger before the light go-fast stuff anyway
  4. Are the benifits of a lightened carrier enough to justify the expense, or is it money better spent on an adjustable gas block? I have an 18" barrrel with rifle gas system and a miculek comp (probably will switch to a benny cooley soon though) Thanks, Polytech
  5. Another vote for an FN! I love mine, and I don't really clean it that much Heck half a squad ran it at the fnh three gun this year with no problems. Polytech
  6. I'd get the express turkey with the 21" vent rib, and then throw a extention on it to get 8 rounds in the mag tube. But I like vent ribs better than bare barrels with beads. Polytech
  7. I've had a oval shaped shell out of the walmart 100 round packs before that jamed up in my SLPMK1 for what its worth. Polytech
  8. I'd say a decent 20" ar like a stag, or a dpms, and a nice cheap 870 shotgun with an extention to get you 8 round capacity. A pump won't be the fastest, but it will be less expensive to start with, get a nylon side saddle and maybe a forearm carrier or a shell tray or two. Maybe throw a comp on the rifle too, get a couple of Pmags, rock the pockets for extra mags. BUT I'm far from an expert
  9. Cabela's coolmax for hot days http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...&hasJS=true And smartwools (or cabela's "smart wools") for the rest of the time Polytech
  10. I remember seeing an "indiana deer gun" thread on another forum and I believe that 458 socom was listed as an aproved caliber. That's what i would go with to keep it in the AR15 "evil" class

  12. Used my rig at the last uspsa club match, worked great! Still not used to going to up front for a mag though FYI the OCD in me is being tried, I got three pouches and three bases, so one doesn't have a base when one's in the gun I'm gonna have to order another
  13. FYI The last Cheaper Than Dirt catolog I recieved had cmmg followers @ 5 for $9.97 ETA: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ARR156-63965-1886.html

  15. Where do you guys put the "buckle" end of the belt? It doesn't seem like it will work up front like my normal belt. What can I do to get my mag pouches nice and tight? The thumb screws are bottomed out on the flange of the insert and they're a little more loose than I would like. Polytech
  16. Are you one them super secret squirrel guys that gets all the cool NEW Magpul stuff or what? Let me guess.......its not what you know......its who you know? You can modify the 30 rounders, there were lots of guys on ar15.com cutting down 30's to make 20's before they were available from the factory.
  17. [TOMMY BOY]HOLY SNIKIES!!!!!!!![TOMMY BOY] I order today at 12:30(central) today and I have a tracking number at 4:00pm Shooters Connection will be my first stop when I'm looking for gear from now on! polytech
  18. Good place for 6.8 stuff: www.cardinalarmory.com
  19. I run an ace M4 with their extention tube, I'd like to upgrade to a vltor emod but I can't seem to find somebody with a comercial tube version. I don't really want to give up my ace tube, I like the screw stops and the extra reinforcement. I may upgrade to a magpul UBR, but its a little steep, especially considering I scored the ace M4 off a prize table
  20. +1 to the slide stop, I ditched mine after riding it in a match. Polytech
  21. I figured 4 fancy mag pouches and then a some regular kydex pouches towards the back if I need more for production or limited10. Polytech
  22. I've got two Pmag 20's, two Pmag 30's in an arredondo coupler, and a couple of single C-product 30 rounders. When the CMMG 42 round mags come out I'll buy a couple of those to add to the stable. Polytech
  23. I'm not really looking to get one of the race holsters, just not secure enough for me. I'll probably end up running a DOH holster so I can have some similarity to my CCW carry placement and draw and also for my three-gun rig. I'm alright with dropping a mag now and then, but my gun, that's another story Polytech
  24. Sounds like shooters connection it is, brownells seems to always be out of stock on the belts, and midway doesn't carry cr stuff. Thanks, Polytech
  25. I run big dots on all of my guns, and I've not had any trouble making A's at 25. They are a different type of sight and you have to practice with them. Up close you cover your target with the dot, at 25+ you take a "target style" sight picture with the dot at the bottom of where you want to hit. Polytech
