rider82
Can anyone give the info on the guy who makes the extended pads for the x-5. The Sig alum. pads are $65 each, and I'm not real fond of the Mec-Gar + 2's. Thanks

rider82
I'm going to try a few Mec-Gar 18 AFC with the plus 2 pads(already have the pads). One of the questions I have is, what is max capacity on a Sig 9mm or 40 mag and still make 140 gauge, and what components. I saw some of the 20 round Sig mags, but when loking at them I'm not sure they would accept a plus two pad.
rider82
P.S., if you watch the Max Michel Youtube Sig shooting tips video's, the pads he uses do not look like Sig, they appear to be much larger. I have no idea if they are mousetrap pads?

petern
I'm not sure, I get 18 in my 40 to start, 17 to reload. With these mousetrap basepads installed what is the length of the magazine? A normal +2 pad on a X-Five magazine is 132mm in length, and with this 14 round magazine loaded my X-Five only just fits in the IPSC Standard Division box. Adding another three .40 rounds must extend the magazine length by another 30mm+. Surely this would make the magazine too long for anything other than Open Division in either IPSC or USPSA unless some black magic voodoo is involved?? If not, I simply must have some of these. Anyone compared them to the length of a standard 25 round 9mm magazines on the X-Five Open pistol?
Matt Cheely
Those basepads are for USPSA Limited and will not fit in the standard box.
HuskySig
From Sig forum: I'm very sorry everyone...I've been off the net for a while, due to work...I'm still alive and kicking and still have base pads that will increase the capacity of the P226s/X5s and 9mm 229sI designed the base pads to allow the p226 style magazines to hold up to 24 rounds of 9mm, 18 rounds of .40 and the swat mags will hold 29 or 30 rounds. I've also designed a spring follower kit that will let you get one more round than the standard spring/follower, however, the slide will not lock back (not critical for competition pistols) The base pads are $30 and the spring follower kits are $20 each and shipping is a flat $6. It's best to email me at prairiedawgshooter@msn.com or give me a call at 719-268-6872. I will be going thru my 3,000 emails shortly and getting back to those who've inquired. Once again, I apologoze for not getting back to you. I appreciate your patience with me. I'm on the road a lot these days w/ the military and I do not have a business set up. take care Roger
