  1. PS, there is no large end on the washer, only a tapered side which I placed toward the action, and the other side(toward the comp) which is also VERY thin.
  2. OK I will look, but it almost seems under that scenario I should eliminate the included "crush washer", which is unthreaded and has no flats to use a wrench. It rests against the barrel at a point where it's tapered. I don't do this often but I was under the impression a crush washer actually can be crushed, there is no shoulder to crush anything against. The brake itself does tighten up against the washer, which is pressed against the tapered portion of the barrel. I don't see any way the brake could be clocked properly if I put the amount of pressure on the brake it needs.
  3. I purchased the LE version of Sig MPX PCC, it has a flash hider instead of the muzzle brake. I ordered the muzzle brake from TTI, it came with the brake and washer(not threaded). I'm not sure if I should call it a lock washer, jam washer, or what? The barrel itself behind the threading is tapered, no real shoulder anywhere. I installed it with the tapered side toward the action, screwed the brake on, which stopped about a quarter turn short of 12 o'clock. I tightened it to 12 o'clock. After about 20 rds it was loose. What am I missing? No instructions were included with the brake.
  4. I had the same issue, that taper in the hollow is very abrupt. I had to load at 1.1 to get them to chamber in an apex barrel.
  5. Sorry, been sleeping on this thread. I like it more for the way I it feels when gripping the gun. Yes I think it helps some on the reload. My gun is a 4" S&W compact 9mm.
  6. I'm using a Floyd's custom shop magwell on mine, I like it. You need extended base pads to properly seat a mag, I bought several from Floyd's also. Hope this helps.
  7. Recently purchased the micro comp, and tested Winchester 115, Winchester 124 NATO, and Remington 115 factory ammo. All of them functioned with factory spring set up. Both of the 115's basically ejected to just less than the height of my head and landed just outside my right foot. The 124 NATO's went a little further. I switched to a stainless guide rod and 15lb spring, and had similar results(Is the factory set up 16lbs?). I then switched to a 13lb spring, and did not seem to have much improvement. Considering an 11lb at this point? Anybody else using one of these? I am also considering a powder, I am assuming I should lean toward a medium to medium slow powder to gas the comp?
  8. Thanks for the response, I think I read somewhere that Sig "uses" the actual dot as the aiming point, as opposed to centering the sights(equal height equal light). I can't understand how anybody would want to use the actual dot itself in normal light, you are literally covering the target, how can you shoot what you cant see?
  9. I am getting consistant groups that 2 to 2 1/2 inches low at 10 yards. I have shot Winchester 115, as well as 115 and 124 reloads. This gun is very accurate, just can't get near point of aim. i have read somewhere tha Sig set's up the sights so the "dot" is point of aim. I want to shoot point of aim, or close to it, just as if the sights were all black. I checked the sig site, it notes that the 320 VTAC sights are number 6 front, 8 rear. So my question is would the number 8 front from VTAC fix the problem? I belive the differnce is only .010 between the two heights.
  10. Zac, just curious, how was your point of aim with VTAC sights before you changed them out? It was flat freezing when I shot mine, but my groups were around 2 inches low at 10 yard. Groups were great, just seemed low, may have been my frozed hands. What is the front and rear sight height and width you ordered on the Dawsns.
  11. Fuelie, I had the same issue using Montana Gold 124 HP's. I had to go just below 1.11 in mine becaue above that they were into the lands, must have a short throat. Did not have the same issue with FMJ RN.
  12. I was diagnosed last year. I'm sure many who posted have some family history with this disease. It sounds like your doing great. It's funny, your numbers are identical to mine at this point, my first 2 A1C's after 3 months were 5.7. I totally changed the way I eat. I started the P90X workouts recently, and man do they get your heart rate up. Keep up he good work.
  13. Thanks for the responses. I assume you are talking about the Wolf reduced power springs for Sig. Might order one and try it. I have seen some comments on the Sig forum about X-5 extraction issues. One of the posts mentioned lighter springs( read worn out) being part of the problem. I think the reasoning was that the gun unlocked prior to the pressure coming down, making it more difficult to extract. My X-5 slide is pretty light compared to a regular 226, in fact GGI basically told me they don't do any lightning cuts on the slide at all in their tune up package because most of the excess steel has already been taken out.
  14. I'm loading for my nephews M&P Pro, which seems to like a load I worked up using 124MG's and SR7625. It runs his M&P fine, but seems slighly sluggish in my Comp. I have run several loads in my X5 Comp that were around 125PF and they have extraction issues. The load I'm using in his Pro is right around 130PF. Can you drop down several pounds on the main recoil spring without running into problems with extraction? I'm trying to avoid two different loads if possible, since his load is fairly accurate in my gun. I'm also not sure what he standard recoil spring weight is in the X5 Comp. I'm hoping somebody has some experience with this issue. If necessary I guess I could bump up his load several tenths to boost the PF, just curious.
  15. It's a computer issue, I logged on with my daughters computer and could pull down the menu's. Thanks for the help.
  16. Your talking to a computer idiot, ahhhh, Internet Explorer? Tell me where and or how to look and I'll tell you. I should have said earlier that I can't pull up the photo's from posts either.
  17. Brian, I logged off, then back on. After doing that I was at least able to get the very edge of dark blue around my user name to sort of light up, but no drop down menu. I signed off, then deleated everything temp in my internet options, including cookies. Tried again, nothing.
  18. When I move to the member name in the upper right corner I get the "hand", but that's it, no drop down menu, even if I click on it. I can click on my photo and get my profile.

    Painting!

I just finished cutting in the ceilings at my house, it really sucks. I'll start on the walls Tuesday. I'm shooting next weekend, ALOT.
  20. I don't know how many people have tried this set up, but this is my experience. Based on the instructions, I had to make some adjustments. I had to move the barrel nipple(if that's what it's called) down further than the instructions called for. With the sanding and polishing, and moving the barrel support down, it's far better now. I'm using a Speed-Sec for my STI, it's not there yet, but it's a lot better.
  21. I have tried that, nothing. I might add that my computer is a little old, maybe it's a performance issue, but I'm not sure. When I try to hit the drop down, I get nothing.
  22. I was able to send and receive PM's prior to the system update. I have no idea where to find, read, send ect, them now. Any help would be appreciated.
  23. I tried it in the up position several times, but rotating it forward until it points down was a little better. I have done some sanding on the inside of the trigger guard, and it is helping, but I'm doing a little at a time. Thanks for the help.
  24. Just wondering if I'm missing something on the set up. This is my first CR Speed holster. Draws at speed are almost impossible, I'm literally lifting the whole rig with the gun still in the holster. I left the lock lever really loose, and have kept it in the down postion. I seems that this holster is a little picky as far as draw angle, but this is unreal. One other thing that seems to be going on is the "sharpness" of the trigger guard edges. Any ideas or experience would be helpful.
