chuck pullen
I just discovered this forum and have a question. I have an EAA Witness with a problem. I bought this full-size all steel Witness 9mm used and, some time later, noticed a hairline crack from the front bottom corner of the ejection port to the bottom of the slide. I have not shot it and would like some opinions. Is this gun unsafe to shoot? If so, can the crack be repaired economically? I really like the ergonomics ad trigger on this gun and would like to be able to shhot it. Thanks. Edited October 25, 2009 by chuck pullen

chuck pullen
http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...p;hl=al+capizzoI've had the same issue. Repeatedly. Thanks Al. I've read the linked thread and the comments are not encouraging. Should the gun just be trashed ? Any advice is welcome.
Al Capizzo
I'm shooting mine, but I'm certainly watching for anymore cracks.
liontribe
is this problem only with the small frame versions? i have a couple of the large frame Limiteds and want to know if this is something i should look out for in the future. thanks. liontribe
Al Capizzo
I've got no experience with the large frame guns so I can't help you there, and really I hadn't heard of it being a problem on the small frame guns either. But I've got 3 out of 4 cracked slides and now Chuck has another one. I don't think I'd worry about it, but I'd look every once and a while too.
