snokid
there is a post over in the reload section about these bullets. How would they work in a open gun? I know that people don't shoot lead in a open gun but what about these? thanks Bob
Chuck Anderson
They still smoke a little in a limited gun. In an open gun it would be even worse. The pressure from an open gun would cook even more off the back of the bullet. There would also be an increase in leading to the bore and comp. Also there is a general difference in powders used for open vs. limited. With limited we're looking for the minimum amount of gas becasue that translates to recoil. With open you're looking for that gas, thats what works the comp. If you through lead on top of the open powder it makes a lousy combination. We have quite a few shooters using the masterblaster bullets out of limited guns in the Northwest but I think the owner of the company is the only one using them out of an open gun. Stick to good jacketed bullets.
