Baer45
I ended up with a 500 box of Speer .452 250 gr, swc rds that I need to do something with. I shoot mostly semi custom 1911's...I tried to find load data in Speers book and the bullet was not listed..anyone have any suggestions? I was going to try some Bullseye on a comparable load and see how they fed before shooting...
Steve J
It is a 45 Colt and/or 45 Long Colt bullet. Wouldn't it be easier to sell them to someone who handloads for 45 revolver? That would be my first choice. 45 ACP = 230 gr RN in my book. If you must work up a load, Accurate Powders lists a 45 Auto load data for a Nosler 250 gr Jacketed HP Bullet. Hogdon Powers list loads for 230 gr and 260 gr using HS6 and HS38. One could compare those values to work up a load. It still seems like a lot of trouble when you could just sell or trade them for a normal weight bullet.
Steve J
Sometimes it helps to use the search function on this forum too. I searched for "250" for you in the .45 reloading forum and found these threads. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...6228&hl=250 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...0221&hl=250 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...8757&hl=250 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...7311&hl=250 http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...8734&hl=250 As always, use other people's load data at your own risk. I still say sell them and buy some 230 grain bullets.
