Gotta figure this out quick, as I will soon be getting a new computer at work that very likely will block me from these evil sites, leaving me access only at home <_< .

Problem is at my home PC. I enter the URL's for BE or USPSA and I get the msg above. Same thing happens if I try hotlinking through another website. My son's brand new computer has the same problem. No issues accessing any other site, including gun related sites (the vendors here, gunbroker.com, etc.). Been going on since I came back from vacation a couple weeks ago. No problem using my son's laptop then/there.

Reboots, cache and cookie wipes don't do anything. I'm too much the tyro to know what else to try.

Ideas? Malware? Pranks? Something less malicious?

Couple of questions:

1. Did those sites ever work from those computers?

2. If they did, what did you change just before they quit working?

3. What operating system?

4. What browser?

5. Are you using a proxy? (In IE: Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> Lan Settings)

I would check to see if it is resolving the names correctly. To test that:

Start -> Run

Enter the following without quotes: "cmd"

In the cmd window, enter the following commands:

ping brianenos.com

ping uspsa.org

ping 74.55.30.98

ping 209.62.63.82

exit

Let me know what results you get.

I'll need to check, re changes, but I think there was a recent "upgrade" to the latest version of Explorer done on my desktop. Need to check on my son's laptop.

I'll copy/paste your suggestions and try them out. Thanks for the advice!

Hmm. Problem fixed itself. No idea why...

Thanks anyway for the advice, which I have pasted into a folder on my home PC, just in case :D

Kevin, I logged into your computer and changed a couple of things, the internet should be working better for you. Could you deposit more money into paypal before this Wednesday?

thanks
