load data 40 cal 175 gr lead sw

You can safely use 180grn bullet load data for the powders you have or any other powders for that matter as a starting point for developing your loads with a cast 175grn bullet. If you do not have a chronograph it would behoove you to get one as it is the best tool to have for load development baring bullets, powder, and primers themselves. I recommend a ProChrono Digital for around $100. You will waste a lot more money and time without one than it will cost to get one, and you will KNOW what is happening instead of guessing.

Regardless of what the "Unique Haters" say it is still a decent powder and certainly can be used. Those who try to use it in too light loadings will find it to be dirty in that the powder will not be completely consumed without the proper internal pressure. The OLD Unique was pretty filthy. The newer stuff (Last 5 years or so) is not as bad at all, and when used properly will shoot farily cleanly, though not as cleanly as some others. If you start about the middle of the manufacturer's suggested load for a particular cartridge, on up to their maximum recommended loading, then Unique is as clean or sometimes cleaner than many other powders.

It does tend to be smokey with some lead bullet lubricants though. So depending on what lube you are using, you could find yourself in a cloud of smoke in a long string of fire if you are in a static position indoors or even outdoors with calm conditions. Of course the same thing applies to many other powders... Titegroup for one.
