ahudson
I was shooting a steel match last Saturday. I was on my first stage getting ready to start my last string. Ro said stand by and i heard the Beep my mind said go and next thing I know my gun is tumbling on the ground. When I was drawing my gun the front sight caught my holster and tumbled out. Ro stopped me as I knew was going to happen He picked up the gun cleared it out and put it in my holster. I'm very thankful that it did not go off. I shoot a double action pistol so the hammer was in decock position. I was so furious at myself. The night before I was practicing my draw and trying to speed up a little. I now come to understand that i just need to slow and relax and let the motion flow.
boz1911
Dryfire / livefire practice is the time to push the speed limit. During matches though, good grip and solid draws are what's needed. Sorry about your DQ.
Dan Hefta
Bummer about the DQ, I am very glad that nothing bad happened. Sounds like you have the right attitude, you made a bad mistake and you are going to learn from it, you could shoot with me anytime. Keep your chin up.
