hartzpad
Just getting starting in IDPA with my M&P Pro. It is all stock except for a 13 lb. recoil spring and a non-captured steel guide rod, some grip tape on the frontstrap. Does the aftermarket non-captured guide rod mean that I can't shoot in SSP? Or because the stock M&P captured guide rod is metal (not plastic IIRC) will this be legal? I also have some mag base pads from an M&P compact, can these be used on my IDPA gun legally? RobMoore
Metal guide rods are SSP legal in the M&P because the factory rod is metal. If the factory rod was plastic (ala Glock), then a metal rod would put you in ESP. Compact basepads, as far as I know, are also SSP Kosher.
