Boats Posted July 2, 2009 Share Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Been working with a beater 19 2 1/2 inch. Gun must have been stored laying on some material that held moisture. Left side blue is OK right light surface rust all over. Cleaned off with Flitz no pits & no finish remaining on most of the frame. Inside was a mess but have it working well now. Want to send it to Mahovsky's How far do you strip a revolver before sending. How about the side plate leave it on or off ? Cylinder, send it completely apart ? Carmoney Posted July 2, 2009 Share Posted July 2, 2009 Yeah, that's one nice aspect of dealing with Mahovsky, you don't have to worry about disassembly and reassembly. Duane Thomas Posted July 2, 2009 Share Posted July 2, 2009 Actually, talking to Ron years ago, he would MUCH rather you just send the gun as a complete unit, so he doesn't have to worry about something being missing out of the "bag of parts" he'd get if you broke the gun down yourself before sending it.
