Spray_N_Prey
I might have given some bad advice to a shooter yesterday and if I did, want to rectify the situation. He had a kydek type of holster that attached to the belt via belt loops but didn't cover the muzzle completely. The muzzle was about an inch out of the holster. I thought that the muzzle had to be completely covered. I told him that would not be a legal production holster. On page 74, appendix D4, 20. states that: Holster restrictions: * May not be manufactured or cut lower than, and must cover the slide up to, 1/2 below the ejection port (belt slide "Yaqui" type holster exempt). ??????????????????? Flexmoney
Sounds legal to me.
Spray_N_Prey
Ok so the holsters that come with the XD gun (XD gear only covering the trigger, leaving most of the slide handing down below the holster) is legal for production?
Graham Smith
I expect it's allowed because a Yaqui slide would cover at lot of the ejection port as well as the trigger guard. As opposed to a holster that was cut way down the front, in order to make a speed draw easier. Edited June 22, 2009 by Graham Smith
Shawn Knight
Ok so the holsters that come with the XD gun (XD gear only covering the trigger, leaving most of the slide handing down below the holster) is legal for production? As long as it meets the distance measurements. It is considered a yaqui style holster.
