kevin c Posted June 27, 2009 Share Posted June 27, 2009 The BC's are locally available to me and affordable - I'd love to shoot them, but they won't run in my OEM bbls, and they (at least w/ the aftermarket bbl I occasionally use on my 17) leave deposits in the chamber causing predictable feed jams after 50 or so rounds. Could be powder related (too bad - I got an 8# kegger of TG). Too hot/Too fast for this bullet (TG seems OK with Precision coated bullets)? I have some S1000, Clays and Universal Clays - mebbe after the high season is done for the big matches, I'll try them out. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Joe D Posted June 27, 2009 Share Posted June 27, 2009 I could not get Clays to work at all. Bullets tumbled badly. Try 3.2-3.4 gr of Solo with the 147s. What is your OAL? I tried some lead 160 gr bullets from Valiant - no go tumbling. For some reason they did not tumble out of a LW barrel though. Try some of the BC 160s. You will love them. TimWarner Posted June 27, 2009 Share Posted June 27, 2009 I shoot 180gr from Black Bullets International, and I've shot thousands without cleaning and there's still no visible leading. Guess I haven't worried about chronoing since my brass looks fine, and my barrel looks pretty clean.
