miyamoto
hello folks, what kind of feel do you get from various bullet weights in 9mm? shooting 135pf for idpa and uspsa have been using 135gr plated from west coast. was thinking of trying 147gr montana gold fmj. looking for a soft shooting load, but one with good feedback. using universal clays. shooting through 1911's and glocks. what are your impressions of the various weights? 115gr, 124gr, 135, 147. what kind of feel do you get from each? why do you feel is suits you? have to make a large bullet order soon. looking for feedback. thanks much, will s. Joe D
I use a 147 gr plated bullet over 3.0 grs of Titegroup. Shoots very softly out of my Glock 34. Much nicer than the 115s.
ErikW
I've always preferred 147 gr. They don't seem to have the bark or sting of lighter bullets and they seem to be more accurate. After shooting up all my 147s, I loaded up some 115 JHPs I had on hand for my .38 Super Open gun. I don't like them as much as the 147s. They flip more, they sting more, and they are barky. I've also used a lot of 124/125 and tried 130 and 135. 147 is my first choice, 124 second.
