Loading long and Clays?

Im trying to work up a nice minor load with clays

3.ish clays 180 lead ,

and after experiencing some weird( or typical) oal problems with my gun. (Tanfo Limited 10mm mags)

I would like to load long 1.180 or longer.

Now will Clays start acting weird with the increase in case volume at that charge 3.0 and a 180?

Try 3.0 and see what it chrono's.

In my 6" Schuemann Ultimatch barel and OAL of 1.209, I have to load Clays to 4.6 to get within spitting distance of 165 PF, and 4.8 to get there reliably.

Thanks guys! I saw my buddy with Quickload and we crunched some numbers.

It looks like 3.0 at 1.180 will yield only 18000psi but around 730ish fps

3.4gr gives more than 50% case fill and bumps up pressure to the low 20s and around 780fps

all from a 5in barrel, This is what the computer says, And im gonna chrono it.

I was worried about a spike in the pressure due to powder burn rate, and less of it in a larger volume.

Man all this makes me wanna go back to gunsmithing school lol.
