rlh
This is my first progressive press and was wondering what all else I need to get coming to be ready to reload. Would have rather had a 650 but I could get the lnl and a case feeder for the same price. So the lnl was a better deal. Have used a 650 with the case feeder and it was nice but my price range was around the 550 range so the lnl seemed to be the better deal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ryan. Well, just off the top of my head... Dies One-shot case lube Shell plate scale (digital pocket scale is good) calipers (I like digital) case gauge (optional) extra LNL bushing (these things are cool!) I have a LNL AP and love it. I wish I had the new ejector system, but my old style wire ejector is working fine so far. If you read www.thehighroad.org, they have a 'tips and tricks' section on the LNL. AlamoShooter
The extra LNL bushing are a good thing to have. I have a single stage Hornady that I used to work up loads and bench rest loads in 223 and 22-250. Not using it in three = years I got the dies out popped them in the press and = was off and going again rite off the bat. I had two 223 size dies so if I stuck a case when I was short on time I could just pop in the next die and go. The Hornady Bullet seater's are the best for the $$$ I think they are better than the high dollar competition seating die. I have the Hornady seater's on every head for my 650 and for my Supper comp I have the micrometers seater. For the 38 super the Dillon size die had fewer problems than the Hornady. rlh
Thanks I got it all covered but the shell plate. I already reload on a single stage but reloading .40 is like filing my teeth with a file.
bubbadoc
I would also pick up some spare case retainer springs. I pop one about every thousand rounds.
SharonAnne9x23
I am not meaning to be argumentative but I just looked at the Hornady site and the LNL AP press plus case feeder lists for $921.35. The Dillon XL650 w/casefeeder is $739.95. Where did you get such a deal on the Hornady?

The Dillon XL650 w/casefeeder is $739.95. Where did you get such a deal on the Hornady? Although they say they do not have them in stock right now, Natchez Shooters Supply lists the complete press, with case feeder, shell plate, case feeder, case feeder plate, and ten bushings, for a total of $719.21, plus shipping. I have found Natchez to be reliable about their sales. Of course, let us know how you like it. I hear that the delays are due to the change-over to the new "E-Z-Ject." So, of course, how you like that eject feature is important, also. Jeff686
Oh, I use a short bolt, about 2" long, to put between the shell case pivot feeder and the square pole that holds up the collator. I use it as an on/off switch, to disable the case feeder without having to empty the tube of cases.

They are always much more expensive than Midway, Nachez, etc. Hack
