JGH4445
I load a couple of calibers where I expect to have to load a good bit more than 50 grains of powder. One example would be 257 WBY. Will I have to have a magnum powder bar to do this?

JGH4445
Thanks. Called 'em and they said yes, I would need a mag powder bar for just about any load over 52 to 57 grains, depending on powder.
ambidextrousone
I know we 'professionals' don't like to do this, but that information is easy to find in the 650 reloading manual. I'm not proud of this, but I have to admit that I used the manual for just that purpose recently, to find the powder capacities of the various powder bars. anm2_man
I know we 'professionals' don't like to do this, but that information is easy to find in the 650 reloading manual. I'm not proud of this, but I have to admit that I used the manual for just that purpose recently, to find the powder capacities of the various powder bars. The manual only goes so far. I have some powder that I use in 30-06, that requres the Magnum powder bar to load only 48 grn. The best that I can get out of the Std Large Powder bar is 42 grn. So the answer to the question is "It Depends".
benos
Typically, any load over 50 grains will require the Mag Powder Bar. be
