AikiDale
In brief, a teenage immigrant comes to the US with his parents, goes to school, earns a degree, gets a job, buys a house, marries and has kids. On the last step going through the system to get a green card is detained, ignored, abused and dies in agony at age 34. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/13/nyregion...amp;oref=slogin More than one person did not see what they needed to see. Enthusiast
It's enough to make you sick. We treat criminals better than that. Nearly each and every one of us are either immigrants or descendants of some. You would think that we could at least treat those in our custody with human respect, especially those trapped there by administrative, bureaucratic BS. chp5
Our immigration system is terribly broken. We reward many for breaking the law while penalize others who contribute to society and try to play within the rules. I worry that our country is on a road that is irreversible. I guess all I can do is to continue to cling to guns and religion . . .
