Front Sight

I used a small file.

Measure the sight and the dove tail with a set of calipers to give you an idea of how much material you will have to remove. SLOWLY remove material from the sight and measure/fit until you are good. There comes a point where I had to pass a stroke with the file, than fit/measure, repeat. It's not too difficult, but it is easy to ruin a sight if you aren't careful.

Be careful not to remove too much material from the sight, as I did while fitting my first sight. :(

Sometimes the dovetail on the slide, barrel, etc. isn't a sharp point in the inside corners. If the sight dovetail has sharp corners,

you can have the triangle part the right size but it still won't go in. The first thing to do in fitting a dovetail is file off the sharp edges

so you don't get a false reading as to how it fits in the slot.
