riden
Have bought a hardchromed STI 2011 that has the standard width ambi thumb safety. Since I'm used to the wider option, I am tending to ride the thumb too tight against the slide (on top of the safety) and have experienced a few failures on the slide coming completely home. I know I can find a stainless wider replacement, but does anyone know where I can find one already hardchromed to keep the look consistent with the finish? Thanks! SRT Driver
Riden, It might be less expensive to bead blast the stainless safety. Just a thought.
eerw
get one fitted and blended and then send the part to Virgil at Tripp research. They will Cobra Coat or hardchrome small parts fairly cheaply and quick..
Bucky
You might want to think twice about Hard Chroming the safety. I find the hard chrome makes the safety feel slippery. I had it done (accidently) twice on stainless safeties and in both instances had it removed. Usability is more important than looks, although I find a little contrast in parts finish looks good.
