Want to shoot the gun in USPSA matches Unlikely to shoot IDPA since most local matches are scheduled during workdays M-F (?). Viggen Posted April 18, 2008 Share Posted April 18, 2008 I'm thinking the 6/6.5" barrel is the choice for USPSA. Shooting Major the longer barrel behaves better under recoil and the extra 2" sight radius helps, from my perspective. That's the way I would go since IDPA does not enter into my interests. UW Mitch Posted April 18, 2008 Share Posted April 18, 2008 I'm very happy with my 4" 610, but then again, it's my IDPA ESR gun, since my 5" 625 is a no-go for IDPA. I would agree that if you're not going to shoot IDPA, then go with the longer one - easier to make major, longer sight radius, extra weight to deal with recoil and muzzle rise. The only potential issue is a long gun might not swing as well, but from my perspective that's a small issue compared to all the advantages of the longer barrel. ~Mitch Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
